Alpha-1 Wrestling - Proving Grounds 2 Event Review

Poster coming soon!

Alpha-1 Wrestling presented another dazzling show with Proving Grounds 2 from the Germania Club in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.   There was plenty of great in-ring action and at the conclusion of the night the promotion was left in disarray after the events that transpired in the squared circle during the final bout. Pro wrestling fans won’t want to miss this event as  Proving Grounds 2 was a 3-hour highlight reel.

In the main event, The Convoy (“Big Red” Brodie Lee, Steve Brown, Logan Savage and Dan Magnum) defeated Team Alpha-1 (Justin Sane, ROH vet Michael Elgin, Psycho Mike Rollins and Luis Aviero) in an 8-Man Elimination Tag Team Match that featured some terrific grappling.  The end of the 37 minute bout came when Brodie Lee pinned Alpha Male Champion Justin Sane.  For Sane, he was lucky this was not a title bout, but for Alpha-1 Wrestling this still speaks volumes for the direction of the company with The Convoy now having defeated the best of the best, the Alpha-1 All-stars.  The inmates are now running the asylum.  What happens next is anyone’s guess.

In the co-main event, WWE veteran “Extremely Cute Wrestler” Colin Delaney defeated “Your Savior” Sebastian Suave in a fast paced, cruiserweight match.  Delaney and Suave pulled out all of the stops and took high risk moves to new levels in this bout.  The crowd was much appreciative and standing on its feet for a majority of the match.  After the bout, Delaney cut a promo on Mr. Melo with the end result being a rematch with Ethan Page in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match.  Page was victorious earlier in the night against TNA veteran Sonjay Dutt.  Delaney versus Page part two should be a high-intensity match and has all of the makings of not only match of the night for Alpha-1 but also one of their best matches in the promotion’s history.

Also on the card, a 4-Way Elimination Match for the Zero Gravity Title took place with “The Mastermind” Timothy Krane retaining his belt.  The other participants, Jimmy Jacobs, Johnny Wave and Alessandro Del Bruno all showed signs of greatness but Krane was too much for them in this bout and proved why he is the champion.

Watch this exciting pro wrestling event exclusively on video on demand through the GFL Combat Sports Network as Alpha-1 Wrestling presents Proving Grounds 2.  Witness all of the action and jaw dropping moves as these wrestlers put it all on the line and go for broke.   Order Alpha-1 Wrestling’s Proving Grounds 2 only at GFL.tv

Rocktagon MMA Elite Series 6 PRO-AM Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

Rocktagon MMA returns to its stomping grounds, after a successful trip to the west coast, as Ohio's leading amateur MMA organization presents Rocktagon MMA Elite 6 PRO-AM on July 30 at the North Olmsted Soccer Sportsplex in North Olmsted, Ohio. This is the latest event in a series that showcases up and coming professional and amateur MMA fighters mixed with live music for a festival-type night of enjoyment. Also slated for the event are performances by the bands Oblivea and The Shauns. Rocktagon MMA has melded these two forms of entertainment seamlessly into its live events and July 30 will be no different.

In the main event, Ohio native Micah "Mayhem" Bender (9-5) puts his Rocktagon MMA 170 lb Pro Title on the line against Cincinnati's own Chris "The Action Man" Curtis (5-2). This will be Bender's first title defense of his Rocktagon belt. Bender is a grappling specialist but has also finished several of his fights by TKO ref stoppage because of his vicious ground and pound making him a tough fighter to match up with for anyone. For Curtis, who is known as a fast starter with 3 of his wins coming in the first round, all from strikes, it will be a game of chess as to how he decides to attack the champion. Curtis has the quicker hands but is not in Bender's league in the grappling department. If Curtis over commits on his feet he could be susceptible to a takedown and an eventual submission. But all Curtis needs to do is land one of his devastating hooks or crosses and that could change the entire complexion of the fight. Definitely a fight of the night worthy main event.

In other action Tony Dipiero (6-5) and Matt "The Bully" Dicenso (6-0) will fight for the 205 lb Amateur Rocktagon MMA Championship that Dipiero currently holds. The undefeated Dicenso, already a champion himself and owner of two belts from other organizations comes all the way from Canada to fight for the title while Dipiero will have the hometown advantage when these two bulls lock horns inside of the cage. Will Dipiero be able to fend off the outsider or will Dicenso do what he always does and win and add another title to his growing collection? Make sure not to blink for this light heavyweight battle which is sure to explode into chaos from the opening bell.

Don't miss this stacked card featuring some of the East's top MMA fighters from within the United States and also from the international scene. Watch these up and coming gladiators do battle inside of the Rocktagon cage as Rocktagon MMA presents Rocktagon MMA Elite 6 PRO-AM on July 30 live on iPPV exclusively at GFL.tv

Sportfight X - July 23 Event Review

Poster coming soon!

Sportfight X returned with a loaded card featuring 8 bouts coming from the North Atlanta Trade Center in Norcross, Georgia.  Sportfight X has quickly become “Southeastern MMA’s Ultimate Proving Ground” because of high octane cards like this show.  The fighters set a dizzying pace from the first fight until the last and gave the fans in attendance and watching online a great night of action from start to finish.

In the main event, Dave Vitkay (10-10-1) defeated Roger “The Leprechaun” Carroll (9-6) by unanimous decision.  Vitkay performed brilliantly throughout the fight.  In round one he was able to get a takedown, a couple submission attempts including catching a guillotine and then finally a beautiful sweep on Carroll at the end of the first.  In round two it was more dominance by Vitkay.  In a round that was mostly grappling Carroll improved from the first, landing a solid elbow but it was Vitkay who turned the tide with another sweep and delivered his own strikes from the mount that gave him the round.  Round three would be more of the same as Vikay got the better of Carroll only this time in the standup.  For Vitkay who came off of a disappointing draw in his last fight this has to feel great.  Defeating a tough opponent like Carroll gets Vitkay back on the right track.

In the co-main event, Bellator veteran Steve Ledbetter (8-3) defeated Joe “Hitman” Elmore (4-4), after a grueling three round war, via unanimous decision in a battle of up and coming lightweights.  The fighters put on a grappling clinic featuring varying submission attempts along with some ground and pound added for good measure.  There was blood early on after Elmore landed an elbow to Ledbetter’s scalp that continued through the whole fight.  Both fighters showed something in this bout and proved they are two rising prospects in the South.  For Ledbetter, a well-earned victory over a tough opponent sets him up for another possible shot with Bellator and for Elmore it proves that he is one of the toughest fighters in the world with a record of .500.

Don’t miss this full throttle card featuring fighters from around the Dirty South!  Watch the champions of tomorrow compete today as Sportfight X presents its latest event exclusively on the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv.

The Warriors Cup XII Event Review

Poster coming soon!

The Warriors Cup XII delivered a great night of standup combat proving that Muay Thai is very alive and thriving in the United States.  The 15-bout had a mixture of both professional and amateur fights and gave the fans action every second of every fight.  It was also a historical night as it was the debut of professional full rules (including elbows) Muay Thai in New Jersey.  The fighters did not disappoint.

In the main event, Liam “The Hitman” Harrison defeated Justin Greskiewicz by TKO in Round 2 to win the 147 lb WBC International Muay Thai Title.  Harrison lived up to his moniker as “The Hitman” delivering punishment throughout the bout including powerful leg kicks that were easily picked up on the house microphones and heavy-fisted punches.  Greskiewicz was a game opponent, but could not take any more punishment as the referee called a halt to the fight after Harrison delivered a short left hook that dropped Greskiewicz at the end of round two.  Greskiewicz was still dazed and not fully recovered going into the rest period and the referee stopped the fight.  With the victory, the Englishman Harrison wins the vacant championship and if this fight is any indication, he will hold on to the title for a long time.

In the co-main event, Rami Ibrahim defeated Mark DeLuca in a WBC Lightweight Elimination bout after a unanimous decision after five great rounds.  Both Ibrahim and DeLuca showed why they were in a #1 Contender’s Match as they both dug into each other with vicious strikes that would have stopped lesser fighters.  But it was Ibrahim who landed the cleaner shots during the fight and winning every round on two judges’ scorecards that proved to be the difference.

In another great bout Brett Hlavacek, fighting out of New York City, defeated Marcus Fisher of Pittsburgh, PA by majority decision after five rounds in a super middleweight (165 lb) bout.  Hlavacek being the semi-local had the crowd with him for every punch and kick he landed and gave the Tri-state area fans something to be proud of.

If you love action-packed striking, The Warriors Cup XII is your type of event.  Watch all of the punches, kicks, knees and elbows as these warriors mix it up with one another and leave everything in the ring.  Order this event exclusively at GFL.tv.

Absolute Action MMA - AAMMA XVII Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

Kentucky’s #1 MMA promotion returns as Absolute Action MMA presents Absolute Action MMA XVII emanating from the Pulaski County Fair in Pulaski County, Kentucky on July 28.   MMA fans, this 13-bout card is stacked with the top amateur fighters inside Kentucky and the surrounding states.  AAMMA is the premier MMA organization in the Bluegrass State and one of the Southeast region’s top cage-fighting promotion’s.  You always get competitive, quality MMA with Absolute Action MMA.

In the main event, Ohio native Deric “The Manimal” Reece (3-3) battles undefeated Jonathan Byerly (2-0) in a welterweight clash of top prospects.  Reece is coming off of a tough loss in his last fight at AAMMA XV and looks to get back on a winning streak making Byerly his first victim.  For Reece he will have to get back to what he knows best and that’s unloading punches on people as all three of his wins have come by submission, due to strikes.  For the upstart Byerly, who is fighting in his home state, he has made quick work out of the first two opponents he has faced finishing them both inside of one round.  He doesn’t have the experience like Reece, but what he lacks in cage time, he makes up for in explosiveness.  A well-rounded striker and grappler, Byerly will look to make it three in a row for 2011.

In the co-main event, Jeremy Philpot (20-22) fights Josh Millwood who is making his debut in a throw down of featherweights.  Philpot has a tremendous advantage in experience but he also has significant wear and tear on his body.  Millwood is a tough wrestler who has been training for some time on his striking and grappling and as you can see, he is not afraid to face anybody.  He has scouted Philpot and will look to exploit the weaknesses he sees in his game while Philpot will have to rely on instinct and his vast cage time to fight on the fly when the two hook horns inside of the cage.  Expect this fight to be fight of the night as both Philpot and Millwood will look to make a statement here.

In another featured bout, Nicholas Noe (5-3) battles Tanner McCalister (3-2) in a lightweight battle with future title implications at stake.  The Ohio native, Noe, is coming off of a first round victory in his last fight just a month ago in which he suffered no injuries and looks to keep the momentum going against McCalister.  For McCalister, who is riding a 2-fight win streak, and also coming off of a first round submission victory earlier this month, he will try to impose his will and get another tapout.  Both men have quickly cut out a road map to the Absolute Action Lightweight Title, but only one can move a step closer after this bout.

You won’t find more BANG for your buck so order this thrilling event.  Be sure to catch all of the action LIVE on July 28 as Absolute Action presents Absolute Action MMA XVII on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv.

International Wrestling League (IWL) - Extreme Reinforcements Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

Wrestling fans from around the globe are in for a treat as the International Wrestling League (IWL) presents Extreme Reinforcements on July 31 exclusively on iPPV at GFL.tv.  After a successful debut show, The Mad Man Takes Over Mexico, the IWL is ready to deliver another great night of international pro wrestling to the GFL Combat Sports Network audience.  The show emanates from the historical Deportivo Tlalli de Tlanepantla in Mexico City, Mexico.

In the main event, Hardcore Icon and International Superstar, Mad Man Pondo returns and this time he brings with him the equally insane and uncompromising Necro Butcher who is ready to make a splash of his own south of the border.  They are joined by fan favorite Low Rider as they compete in a trios match against Los Porros (Angel O Demonico, Leon Rojo and Ovett).  Pondo was successful in his Mexican debut earlier this year.  He brutalized his opponents and showcased his brand of wrestling to an audience that was screaming for more.  The IWL listened to the people and are upping the ante with this bout giving the fans twice the amount of pain, destruction and carnage by bringing in Necro Butcher to team up with Mad Man Pondo.  Hopefully for his sake, Low Rider can match the violence that his teammates are sure to dole out.  For Los Porros, they will have to use their brand of lucha libra, and high flying to offset their counterparts.  This will be a clash of styles to the utmost and will make for an entertaining bout.

In the co-main event, Craig Classic and El Oriental battle WWE and ECW veteran Super Crazy and Heddi “The French Submission Machine” Karoui in a tag team match.  Classic and El Oriental have their hands full because Super Crazy and Karoui are two of the top wrestlers in the IWL and make quite the formidable team with Super Crazy and his acrobatics and Karoui and his mat based grappling.  It will be interesting to see if this mixture of differing styles will confuse the team of Classic and El Oriental.  Look for a lot of top rope moves, diving out of the ring, and cool submissions in this match.

The IWL Internet Title will also be at stake as Champion Daga defends his belt against #1 Contender Mike “Suicida” Segura.  Segura won a three-way dance at IWL’s last pay-per-view to earn the right to face the champion.  For Daga, he has been dominant and unstoppable since he won the IWL belt earlier this year.  He has beaten his last few opponents so soundly that they looked like they didn’t even belong in the squared circle with him.  For Segura, this is a career-defining moment as he goes up against the best wrestler in the promotion.

What are you still doing?  Order this international pay-per-view NOW and watch as the two craziest, ultra-violent wrestlers in the world, Mad Man Pondo and Necro Butcher invade Mexico bent on conquest…hardcore style!  Witness the death defying stunts of these American wrestlers as they clash with the acrobatics and high flying of the luchadores of Mexico in a 3-hour extravaganza, as IWL presents Extreme Reinforcements on July 31 exclusively at GFL.tv.

CFFC 10 - Black Eye Event Review

Poster coming soon!

Cage Fury Fighting Championships returned to Atlantic City, New Jersey as it presented CFFC 10 – Black Eye to a packed house at the Resorts Hotel and Casino.  The card was highlighted by a title switch and included 7 of 9 bouts ending in either KO or submission.  CFFC gave the fans another solid show to and added to its ever-increasing momentum as the dominant MMA organization in the Tri-State area.

In the main event, Massachusetts fighter Chip “The Surgeon” Pollard (5-2) defeated the formerly unbeaten Joey “Boom Boom” Rivera (5-1) by TKO by doctor stoppage due to cuts after Round 3.  Pollard was surgical in his standup landing punch after punch to Rivera’s face causing a cut under his right eye.  Rivera looked sluggish from the get go, which might have been due to fighting 3 times in 8 weeks.  Whatever it was, Pollard took advantage of the situation and beat Rivera to the punch at almost every instance.  In the third round Rivera found some success as he landed a takedown and then worked for a choke.  Pollard was able to escape the hold and get back to his feet where the two men continued to battle on their feet with Pollard continuing to get the better of the exchanges, even though Rivera stayed in the pocked and was throwing just as many strikes.  After a second successful takedown by Rivera it looked like the tide might be turning in the fight, but after a referee standup due to lack of action, Rivera’s eye had suddenly swollen up.  The third round came to an end seconds later and the doctor stopped the fight, making Pollard the new CFFC Welterweight Champion in a great main event.

In the co-main event, Mike Medrano (9-8) defeated Al Buck (5-10) by arm triangle submission in Round 1.  The fight was intense from the opening bell as the crowd shouted and cheered for their guy.  After some initial standup, Medrano landed a takedown and immediately moved to half guard and then full guard landing punches throughout the rest of round one.  In round two it was more of the same as Medrano got another takedown only this time when he moved to the mount he secured an arm triangle submission for the tapout victory.  It was an impressive victory for Medrano who controlled the whole fight and made it a grappling match which is his forte.

Be sure to catch all of the fireworks on this stacked card and watch some of the top fighters in the country do what they do best and battle in the cage as GFL.tv presents CFFC 10 – Black Eye exclusively through the GFL Combat Sports Network.

Ultimate Reno Combat 26 - Relentless Event Review

Poster coming soon!

Northern Nevada's premier cage fighting event, Ultimate Reno Combat, returned to packed arena at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada as the organization presented Relentless to a rabid group of MMA fans.  The 10-fight attraction gave the fans 9 stoppages.  The main event and co-main event had more action in them than other events have for their whole card.  If you like knockouts and submissions than order this card through the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv.

In the main event, Kathryn Davis (3-1-1) of Reno defeated Maria “The Real Deal” Andaverde (4-3) of Redding, California via TKO doctor stoppage in Round 3.  The fight was a back and forth battle with both women gaining the upper hand at times.  Davis went for an armbar in Round 1 and was the more active fighter in a round that was mostly fought on the mat.  Round 2 gave the fans a standup fight with Davis and Andaverde exchanging punches to a roaring crowd.  Finally in Round 3, Davis kept a grueling pace from the beginning of the bell and started to get the better of the standup opening a cut at Andaverde’s hairline.  Blood immediately started to pour and the doctor had seen enough and called a halt to the bout giving the fight to Davis as the hometown crowd cheered with appreciation.

In the co-main event, Joe Rizk (7-1) defeated Roy Benitez (4-3) via TKO by head kick in 3 seconds.  Definitely a highlight reel for Rizk, the fight was over before the announcer took his seat.  The fighters came right at each other and Rizk threw a kick while Benitez tried to touch gloves.  The kick sailed right over Benitez’ outstretched hand and landed flush on his head sending him to the mat.  The kick was not a flash knockout, more like a flash knockdown, as Benitez got back to his feet quickly but the referee had already called a halt to the fight.  To his credit, Rizk was ready to fight and launched the leg kick on his long frame before it was clear Benitez was holding his hand up to touch gloves.  It was a clean kick and probably a record for fastest finish as the actual time was 2.2 seconds but the timekeeper rounded it up to 3 seconds for the official stats.

Watch the champions of tomorrow compete today! Don't miss this loaded event with 10 exciting bouts, 9 ending in either KO or submission as Northern Nevada's Ultimate Reno Combat 26 presents Relentless only at GFL.tv. Order now!

CFFC 10: – Black Eye – Only One Day Away! Preview of Loaded Card

Poster coming soon!

Cage Fury Fighting Championships 10 – Black Eye
Saturday July 23, 2011 @ 7pm (ET)
Resorts Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey
Live on the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv

Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) returns July 23 to Atlantic City, New Jersey as it presents CFFC 10 - Black Eye at the Resorts Hotel and Casino. The exciting 10-bout card is loaded with the top fighters on the East Coast as well as nationally! CFFC has been on a rampage since its re-launch and MMA fans in the Tri-State area and around the globe won't want to miss this high-octane event!  Watch some of the best gladiators in the world fight inside the cage as CFFC 10 – Black Eye is only one day away!  If you can’t be in the arena you can still watch it live online through the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv.

In the main event, newly crowned 170 lb CFFC Champion and undefeated Joey "Boom Boom" Rivera (5-0) battles Chip "The Surgeon" Pollard (4-2) in the first title defense of his CFFC belt.  Rivera has won two titles this year from two different promotions (the other based in Arizona) and looks to successfully defend his CFFC title against Pollard who is a late replacement for injured Tom Gallicchio who had to bow out of the championship bout because of injury.  The Tucson, Arizona breed Rivera has never gone to a judge’s decision as all 5 of his fights have ended in either submission or TKO.  He will look to throw “punches in bunches” and push and aggressive pace on the mat that will open up submission attempts as he looks to continue his winning streak and take back his CFFC title to the Old Pueblo.

As for the Massachusetts fighter, Chip Pollard, coming in as a late replacement could be a blessing in disguise as he might be able to upset the rhythm and game planning Rivera has been training for when Gallicchio was the opponent.  Pollard comes into the bout as a slight underdog with nothing to lose and everything to gain.  He’s playing with house money, the only question is will he hit the jackpot?  Will Pollard be able to dethrone the champion and take the CFFC title back home with him to New England?  Tune in on July 23 to watch this exciting event, LIVE at GFL.tv.

In the co-main event, fan favorite and people’s champ Al Buck (5-9) returns to the CFFC cage to fight East Coast fixture Mike Medrano (8-8) in a welterweight contest.  But for the combatants, this bout is much more important than just the co-main event.  This will be a career-defining fight for both men and for one competitor it might well have career-ending implications attached to it.

The 40-year old Buck is coming off back to back losses so the match with Medrano is do or die for Buck’s career and depending on his showing will tell the tale on his future in the sport.  For Buck, a MMA fighter who has always given 100% inside of the cage and overcome obstacles his whole career this is another mountain he must climb.

Medrano faces the same realities as his opponent as he is also on a bit of a losing streak and desperately needs to break the cycle, so this bout could very well be a “loser leaves town” match.  Nothing will spark a fire under a competitive athlete faster than fighting for his career and that is exactly what Buck and Medrano are up against at CFFC 10 – Black Eye, two veteran gladiators stepping into the cage for what could be one last hurrah.

The winner will continue to fight while the loser might have to hang up his gloves…permanently.  With everything at stake this fight should be a barnburner and will be a candidate for fight of the night as Al Buck and Mike Medrano will leave everything they have inside of the cage for the fans and more importantly for themselves.

The undercard is highlighted by several fights with intriguing storylines.  In a bit of a revenge match, Anthony D’Agostino (1-1) fights Patrick White (1-3).  Earlier this year at CFFC 7, D’Agostino beat Bill Bontcue, a training partner of White, via TKO after the second round when Bontcue was unable to answer the bell.  At CFFC 10, White will look to even the score against D’Agostino.  It could also prove an advantage for White as he has been training with somebody who already fought his opponent.  For D’Agostino it is another opportunity to pick up a win against a fighter with many of the same tendencies as his last challenger.  This fight will be about who can make the small adjustments in their game plan and implement those new changes inside of the cage.

In another interesting undercard match, Artur “The Albanian Nightmare” Rofi (2-0) battles Casey Milliken (2-2) in a contest of two evenly matched rising prospects.  Rofi is a Renzo Gracie prospect who is known for having a short fuse.  In his last fight at CFFC 9, Rofi head-butted his opponent at the weigh-ins and gained the mental edge right there.  Rofi went on to win the fight via arm bar in the second round.  Will Rofi try and use the same mind games against Milliken?

Milliken a product of the Throwdown Training Center in the fight capitol of the world, Las Vegas, is a top-level grappler/wrestler and will be able to match Rofi submission for submission on the ground.  A veteran with double the fights of his opponent, it is very unlikely Milliken will be fazed by any of Rofi’s pre-fight shenanigans.  Both men’s grappling might cancel each other out and this bout could come down to who has the stronger striking ability and be an exciting standup fight for the fans.

Order this event now!  It is only one day away!  Don’t miss this entertaining card highlighted by a great title fight, a strong co-main event and a loaded undercard.  CFFC 10 – Black Eye comes to you on July 23.  Be there for all of the punches, kicks, takedowns and grappling.  Watch some of the best fighters in the world put it all on the line inside of the CFFC cage.  Order this pay-per-view now through GFL.tv.

The entire card reads as follows.

CFFC 170 lb Champion Joey “Boom Boom” Rivera VS Chip “The Surgeon” Pollard
Al Buck VS Mike Medrano

Ozzy Dugulubgov VS Mike Wade

Bully's Fight Night 2 Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

Too Tuff Promotions presents Bully’s Fight Night 2 (BFN 2) on July 22 at the Lethbridge Exhibition Grand Stands in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.   The event features a mixture of both professional and amateur MMA with 13 total bouts highlighted by 3 TITLE FIGHTS.  There are also 2 UFC veterans competing on the card.  If you can’t be there to see it live don’t worry because the GFL Combat Sports Network is airing it live on pay-per-view!
The card is highlighted by a 4-bout super main event including a title fight for the Heavyweight Championship when Jon Ganshorn (4-1) battles Nick Penner (10-1).  Ganshorn is a vicious fighter how is always in attack mode and never backs up.  Penner is a perennial fighter on the Canadian MMA scene last fighting for MFC.  A grappler who likes to use ground and pound to finish fights, Penner is one of the undiscovered gems in the Great White North.  What is going to happen when these two behemoths lock up?  After this fight, either Ganshorn or Penner will be on everyone’s list of top heavyweight up and comers.

The Light Heavyweight Title will also be up for grabs as UFC veteran Edwin “Babyface” Dewees (37-14) takes on Jacen Flynn (8-2) for the vacant championship.  Dewees, one of the most prolific grapplers in the sport, is coming off of a spectacular win earlier this year that took only 29 seconds in his return to MMA.  He will now look to use his vast cage experience advantage against Flynn and lock up another win and a championship in decisive order.  For Flynn, this is a career-defining fight as a victory over Dewees gives him not only the belt but will put his name in the mix of rising prospects that will gain the attention of the national promotions.  Flynn has already knocked off a big name before, submitting Denis Kang over a decade ago, so he will be ready for whatever Dewees brings in his toolbox.

The Lightweight Championship will also be on the line as Talon Hofman (4-6) challenges Alex Popov (2-1).  Both men have a great opportunity to create a following for themselves being showcased on such a stacked card and fighting for a title.  Conditioning will not be a problem for these two gladiators.  Both Hofman and Popov will leave everything in the cage as they try to make a decisive statement in front of the packed crowd and end this fight before it goes to a decision putting an exclamation point on their fight and in the fans’ minds.

In other action, UFC veteran James “The Hammer” McSweeney (4-8) fights Lee “Gladiator” Mein (5-9) in a matchup of two heavy handed sluggers.  Both men love the knockout so this fight is sure to have a lot of fireworks and will end in explosive fashion.

Don’t miss this electrifying event featuring some of the top international mixed martial arts superstars from around the globe.  Watch all of the fights LIVE on July 22 as Too Tuff Promotions presents Bully’s Fight Night 2 on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv!

CFFC 10: Black Eye – Career Defining Fight For Buck and Medrano

CFFC has been on a rampage since its re-launch and MMA fans in the Tri-State area won't want to miss this event which includes a bout for the CFFC Welterweight Title.  If you can’t be in the arena you can still watch it live online through the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv.

Don’t miss this exciting card where the participants in the co-main event never had more to fight for.

The entire card reads as follows.

CFFC 170 lb Champion Joey “Boom Boom” Rivera VS Chip “The Surgeon” Pollard
Al Buck VS Mike Medrano
Evan Chmieleski VS Steve Perez
Ozzy Dugulubgov VS Mike Wade
Arthur Rofi VS Casey Milliken
Eddie Fyvie VS Jeremy Castro

CFFC 10: Black Eye -170 lb Title on the Line as Champion Rivera Defends Against Pollard on July 23

Poster coming soon!

Cage Fury Fighting Championships 10 – Black Eye
Saturday July 23, 2011 @ 7pm (ET)
Resorts Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey
Live on the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv

Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) returns July 23 to Atlantic City, New Jersey as it presents CFFC 10 - Black Eye at the Resorts Hotel and Casino. The exciting card is loaded with the top fighters on the East Coast as well as nationally! CFFC has been on a rampage since its re-launch and MMA fans in the Tri-State area won't want to miss this event which includes a bout for the CFFC Welterweight Title.  If you can’t be in the arena you can still watch it live online through the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv.

Pollard comes into the bout with nothing to lose and everything to gain.  He’s playing with house money, the only question is will he hit the jackpot?  Will Pollard be able to dethrone the champion and take the CFFC title back home with him to New England?  Tune in on July 23 to watch this exciting event, LIVE at GFL.tv.

Alpha-1 Wrestling - Proving Grounds 2 Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

Alpha-1 Wrestling returns to GFL.tv on July 27 with Proving Grounds 2 from the Germania Club in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.   With Alpha 1’s high level of wrestling and the national and international stars it assembles, Proving Grounds 2 is sure to be a 3-hour highlight reel.

The main event features, an 8-Man Elimination Tag Team Match with some of the top grapplers around.  It will be The Convoy (“Big Red” Brodie Lee, Steve Brown, Logan and Magnum) versus Team Alpha-1 (Justin Sane, ROH vet Michael Elgin, Psycho Mike and Luis Aviero).  Will Team Alpha-1 be able to put a stop to The Convoy’s destruction and mayhem or will things go from bad to worse for the Alpha-1 Wrestling roster?  For Lee, Brown, Logan and Magnum they are prepared to make an example of these Alpha-1 All-stars and put all the boys in the locker room on notice that The Convoy is running Alpha-1 Wrestling.

In the co-main event, it will be a Mr. Melo’s Choice Match with “The Motion Picture” Ethan Page versus TNA veteran Sonjay Dutt.  Dutt will have Mr. Melo himself in his corner which seems to stack the odds in his favor against the cocky, Canadian Page.  But Page has never wrestled a match were he doubted the result.  For Dutt this is a great opportunity to show the fans all over the world that he is still at the top of his game and one of the best wrestlers on the planet.  This match should be the show-stealer.

Also on the card, a 4-Way Elimination Match for the Zero Gravity Title featuring Jimmy Jacobs versus Johnny Wave versus Alessandro Del Bruno versus Timothy Krane in what is sure to be a high-flying, high risk match.  There is also a Zero Gravity #1 Contender Match featuring Ashley Sixx versus Cheech.  The winner of that match will no doubt be paying very close attention to the title match later on in the night.  Dangerboy Derek Wylde battles Josh Alexander and WWE veteran Colin Delaney wrestles Sebastian Suave in still MORE ACTION.

Ultimate Reno Combat 26 - Relentless Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

Northern Nevada’s premier cage fighting event returns as Ultimate Reno Combat 26 presents Relentless LIVE on July 22 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada.  Be there live to watch this 11-fight attraction and if you can’t make it to Reno watch online at the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv.

In one of the showcased matches, a pair of undefeated fighters lock horns as Erivelton Lopez (1-0) battles Brandon Costa (1-0) in a contest of up and coming heavyweights.  Lopez won his first fight by armbar submission less than a minute into the fight.  Costa won his fight by TKO/injury in the first.  This could shape up to be a classic matchup of grappler versus striker.  Or it could be something completely different as both men don’t have enough cage time to properly form a game plan against them.  This might be a wild fight and steal the show if both men throw caution to the wind.

In other action, Undefeated Bantamweight Champion Oscar Ramirez (6-0) is also scheduled to compete.  He is coming off of a victory where he won the Ultimate Reno Combat 125 lb Championship in a tough battle and will put his belt on the line for the first time. 5 of 6 of Ramirez’ victories have been stoppages so he will look to get out to a fast start and land a punch or kick or secure a submission early in the fight.  Find out if Ramirez will still be champion after Relentless!

A women’s match is also scheduled as Kathryn Davis (2-1-1) fights Maria Andaverde (4-2) in what will no doubt be a hotly contested showdown.  Davis is coming off of a tough draw in her last fight and wants to get back in the win column while Andaverde is sporting a 2-fight win streak both by first round KO.  Expect fireworks in this fight.

In still MORE action, Jacob Westhoven (0-0) battles Lucas Perez (0-0) and Ronald Hohstadt (0-3) fights Michael Hutchins (0-0).  The winners of these fights will quickly pick up steam and get their MMA careers going in the right direction.

Watch the champions of tomorrow compete today!  Don’t miss this loaded event with 11 bouts as Northern Nevada’s Ultimate Reno Combat 26 presents Relentless on July 22 live on pay-per-view and exclusively on GFL.tv.

In the main event, undefeated Joey “Boom Boom” Rivera (5-0) defends his CFFC Welterweight Championship against tough Massachusetts fighter Chip “The Surgeon” Pollard (4-2).  Rivera has finished all of his opponents inside of two rounds with 4 of 5 ending in the first.  Pollard will be the hardest test to date for “Boom Boom” as the New England fighter Pollard has never been knocked out or submitted.  For “The Surgeon”, this will be his first championship fight and is a tremendous opportunity for the rising prospect.  It will be interesting to see how the fast starting champion, Rivera, responds in the opening moments, because Pollard has never been stopped and is sure to push back against the champ right from the opening bell.  This main event will showcase two of the East Coast’s finest and the winner will be deserving of the title “Champion”.

In other action, Timmy Williams (6-0) will fight for the CFFC Middleweight Title.  Williams is coming off of a spectacular showing at CFFC 7 where he beat UFC veteran Andre Gusmao to the surprise of many.  Williams will look to continue to put his stamp on the East Coast scene with his next fight for the 185 lb belt.

In still more action, fan favorite Al Buck (5-9) also returns to CFFC to face Mike Medrano (8-8) in what is sure to be a highly contested welterweight battle.  These two gladiators always put on fight of the night performances and July 23 should be no different.

You won’t find more BANG for your buck so order this thrilling event.  Be sure to catch all of the action LIVE on July 23 as CFFC 10 – Black Eye brings down the house on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv.

British Columbia is home to some of the best martial arts fans anywhere in the world and Quest For Glory Fighting Championships is looking to carve out its unique niche in this talent-ridden area. This event just got them a step closer to their goals as it was a wild night.

In the main event, current 160 lb Muay Thai Champion, Joe Halfar (6-1) defeated Josh Wright (3-2) after a razor close split decision after five rounds.  The fight lived up to expectations as it showcased the organization’s best strikers.  Both fighters continued to move forward and engage in battle all over the ring and put on quite a show.   It had punches, kicks, knees, elbows and tie-ups -- everything you would expect from a high-level Muay Thai fight. Halfar did just enough to win as he was the busier fighter landing the cleaner strikes and retained his championship.  For Wright, it was still a great showing and even if he didn’t get the victory he earned the respect of his peers and the crowd. Both fighters gave their all and will definitely be fighting again on a future Quest For Glory FC card.

In the other action, Adam Blanchette (5-2) beat formerly undefeated Tony Strong (4-1) for the 185 lb Muay Thai Championship after a unanimous decision after five rounds. Fight Night Entertainment - Round XV - Armed Forces Event Review

Poster coming soon!

Fight Night Entertainment presented Round XV - Armed Forces at the Meydenbauer Convention Center in Bellevue, Washington.  The event featured two title fights in the 155 lb and 135 lb amateur division.  UFC Legend Maurice Smith was on commentary and added great insight and entertainment value for the online audience.

In the main event, Sean Villava (16-5) defeated Jake Burns (6-3) via guillotine in Round 2 to claim the 135 lb FNE Amateur Championship.  Villava opened up a cut on Burns’ nose in the opening round and mixed in some takedowns with a couple close choke attempts throughout the fight, but the gritty Burns was able to thwart the bad positioning and submission holds for most of the fight.  Eventually Villava sunk in a deep guillotine in the second round for the tapout victory. Both fighters pushed the pace as there was constant movement for the entire fight with Villava landing the crisper shots and beating Burns to the punch later in the fight.  Hopefully for Villava, he will transition to the professional ranks soon as he has proven himself a top level amateur.

In the co-main event, Zach Hector (12-3) defeated Zach “The Silverback” Wheeler (14-6) by unanimous decision after five rounds to win the 155 lb FNE Amateur Championship.  After the fight both competitors were bent over from exhaustion after the effort then had given inside of the cage.  Hector controlled the first three rounds mostly through his wrestling and grappling but the fourth was a different story as Wheeler landed cleaner shots that hurt Hector in a standup shootout. To his credit, Hector was able to regroup and take the fifth round and the title.

Don’t miss this exciting card featuring two title fights, commentary by UFC legend, Maurice Smith and a collection of other great matchups.  Watch the future world champions of MMA compete today on this stacked card as Fight Night Entertainment presents Round XV - Armed Forces only through pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv!

Ax Combat - Execution Event Review

Poster coming soon!

Ax Combat had a successful debut show delivering  Execution to a rabid group of Calgary MMA fans. The presentation of Execution was very high-end that included great production value, pre-fight interviews and exciting fights all in a ring which made for great visibility for the crowd and online audience. The 9-bout card featured 8 fights end before the final bell including all 5 of the professional fights.

In the main event, Ryan Hunter (3-0) defeated Devon Garnon (3-3) by TKO in Round 1 of a crosstown Calgary rivalry. The undefeated Hunter delivered several unanswered blows, all in standup, as soon as the bell rang to start the fight. Garnon started to turtle up on his feet after several power shots by Hunter landed flush and glancing to his face. The referee had seen enough and called a halt to the bout less than 30 seconds into the first round. In Hunter's post-fight interview he gave a stirring speech and talked about his two-year old cousin who had just recently been diagnosed with leukemia. In those few moments, you could tell that Hunter's positivity and strength was going to his cousin, who no doubt shares the same fighting spirit.

In the co-main event, Sheila Bird (2-0) proved she has a great ground game as she submitted Kim "Sugar Free" Couture (3-5) in Round 1 with an unusual scissor choke not often seen. The hometown crowd came unglued for Bird and it sets up her as a linchpin for Ax Combat moving forward. Bird landed a couple hard right hands during the standup battle. Bird went for a judo throw that was partially stuffed by Couture but the fighters ended up on the ground with Couture in guard. After a quick scramble, Bird locked on a leg choke tight on Couture's throat with Couture losing consciousness and going out. The referee could have stopped the fight much sooner as Couture's legs both went limp several seconds before the final call was made. It was quite a scene and one of the more memorable finishes in 2011.

Don't miss this stacked card featuring both professional and amateur fighters emanating from the Rocky Mountains of Canada! Watch these gladiators give their all in the debut event from Ax Combat. Order Execution, only on video on demand through GFL.tv.

Sportfight X - July 23 Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

Sportfight X is back with a loaded card on July 23 from the North Atlanta Trade Center in Norcross, Georgia.  Sportfight X has quickly become “Southeastern MMA’s Ultimate Proving Ground” because of high octane cards like this.

In the main event, two seasoned veterans meet in the cage as Roger "The Leprechaun" Carroll  (9-5) fights Dave Vitkay (9-10-1).  The North Carolinian, Carroll, is coming off of two first round submission victories and looks to do the same to Vitkay.  Carroll is an excellent grappler as 8 of his 9 wins have come via submission hold.  Carroll will look to push the pace and use his cardio to wear the bigger Vitkay out and then catch a submission for the tapout.  Vitkay is coming off of a tough draw but the fight before that he won in spectacular fashion via second round choke.  A grappler himself, the Georgian Vitkay also likes to throw hands and will be looking to win the standup battle for as long as it lasts.

In the co-main event, Bellator veteran Steve Ledbetter (7-3) battles Joe "Hitman" Elmore (4-3).  Both men are rising prospects and have a huge following within the Atlanta-metro fight scene.  The crowd will be going wild for what very could be the fight of the night.  This 145 lb clash will be a test of wills as both Ledbetter and Elmore have proven they are game fighters.  The winner of this bout is sure to make waves and could be looking at a contract with one of the national promotions soon.
In other action welterweights, Patrick "Pat le Chat" Mandio (2-3) and Urarahy "The Show" Rodrigues (4-2) square off in what should be a fun fight.  Both Mandio and Rodrigues fight with a reckless abandon at times which makes this fight a pick ’em.  It could end in the first round or go the distance, but one thing is for certain, it will be exciting while it lasts.

Don’t miss this stacked card featuring fighters from around the Dirty South!  Watch the champions of tomorrow compete today as Sportfight X presents its next show on July 23, streaming live on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv!

Death Match Tournament (DMT) - Gravity Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

Death Match Tournament (DMT) is back on July 30 and exclusively at GFL.tv!  LIVE from Langan Baseball Sports Center in Morganville, New Jersey, DMT presents – Gravity.  Coming off the heels of the very successful Ignition pay-per-view, Gravity is sure to continue DMT’s unique brand of professional wrestling and raise the bar even more on hardcore, alternative wrestling.

In the main event, the one and only Necro Butcher returns to the DMT ring of pain to take on the equally violent, Masada.  Necro Butcher is sure to bring his violent style to Masada, a style that has endeared him to pro wrestling fans around the world where he has enjoyed stints with Ring Of Honor (ROH), Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) and now DMT.  Butcher has also shined on the silver screen next to actor extraordinaire Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler.  Masada is coming off of a string of big wins in June including winning both the IWA-MS – King of the Deathmatches and CZW – Tournament of Death.  Masada is only the second man to do this, with ironically Necro Butcher being the first pro wrestler to accomplish this hardcore feat.  What is going to happen when these to uncompromising grapplers lock up in the middle of the DMT ring?

In the co-main event, Corporal Robinson takes on Mad Man Pondo in a Tai Pai Psychopathic Match.  Robinson, a veteran of Juggalo Championship Wrestling knows how to bring the pain and has been schooled on the finer points of sadism.  He will look to use his patented finishers the Boot Camp or Corporal Punishment if he is to stop the Mad Man.  Pondo is coming off of a victorious match at DMT – Ignition and a successful run in Mexico, where he brought his unique penchant for violence to the luchadores south of the border.  It will take a spirited effort by Corporal Robinson to match the intensity of the Mad Man as this match is shaping up to be a show stealer.

Also on the card, ECW veteran Balls Mahoney takes on Lenn Odidty in a Fans Bring the Weapons Match.  This interactive element will attract all of the crazies in the stands, and with these two outrageous wrestlers, you never know what will be used as a weapon – a toaster, chair, baseball bat, rat trap, the possibilities are endless.

Also on this card you will see a Texas Bull Rope Match, a Street Fight/No DQ Match, a 4 Corner Barbwire Board Match and an Extreme TLC Match.  Musical Guest Nassau Chainsaw will be performing and as always “The Franchise” Shane Douglas will be ringside doing commentary.

Nobody does hardcore wrestling like the Death Match Tournament! DMT has locked up the market when it comes to presenting pro wrestling at its most EXTREME.  Witness all the mayhem and carnage where violence is the name of the game.  Order Death Match Tournament – Gravity exclusively on the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv.

Absolute Action MMA - AAMMA XVI Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

Kentucky’s #1 MMA promotion returns as Absolute Action MMA presents Absolute Action MMA XVI emanating from the Midwest Sports Complex in Florence, Kentucky on July 16.   Fight fans, this card is stacked with a host of competitive fights that will include both  professional and amateur MMA as Kentucky’s leading MMA organization and one of the Southeast’s premier cage fighting events presents a night of exciting fights in the Bluegrass State.

In one of the featured bouts, Nicholas Noe (5-3) battles Oleg Nesenchuk (3-1) in a lightweight battle with future title implications at stake.  The Ohio native, Noe, is coming off of a first round victory in his last fight just a month ago in which he suffered no injuries and looks to keep the momentum going against Nesenchuk.  For Nesenchuk, who is riding a 3-fight win streak, and also coming off of a first round submission victory at Absolute Action XV only a month ago, he will try to impose his will and get another tapout.  Both men have quickly cut out a road map to the Absolute Action lightweight title, but only one can move a step further after this bout.

In another featured contest, middleweights Brandon Scott (1-0) and Michael Dabe (6-3) hook up in a fight many are expecting to be fight of the night.  Scott has tremendous power in both hands as evidence of his 16 second KO victory earlier this year.  Dabe is coming off of a triangle choke submission victory himself and will look to use his experience to take Scott into deep waters and wear him out later in the fight.

International Wrestling League (IWL) - Mad Man Takes Over Mexico! Event Review

Poster coming soon!

The International Wresting League (IWL) tore down the house when it brought its brand of lucha libre to Mexico City and the world as it presented The Mad Man Takes Over Mexico.  The 3 hour, 8-bout, nonstop event featured high flying, tables, blood and  much more including Mad Man Pondo himself wrestling in a trios match in front of a rabid and vocal Mexican audience.  The IWL is one of the top federations south of the border and has created a buzz among the online pro wrestling community.  Come see what all the talk is about.

In the main event, Hardcore Icon and International Superstar, Mad Man Pondo (in his Mexican debut) teamed with Zumbido and Fantasma de la Opera to defeat former WWE and ECW star Super Crazy, Angel o Demonio and Tony Rivera that can only be described as extreme lucha!  In a match that included blood, bats, and tables Mad Man Pondo brought his style of crazy to the ring and his intensity was matched by his teammates and opponents in a wild match that was more barroom brawl than scientific grappling.  The end came when Pondo threw Super Crazy off of the top rope onto a waiting table and got the pinfall victory.  The house came unglued for the tecnicos as they defeated the rudos.

In the co main event, Heddi "The French Submission Machine" Karoui defeated Jorge Macias via armbar submission in an International Shoot match. The match was very reminiscent of old-school style shootfighting from the Pancrase days which featured such legends as Ken Shamrock and Masakatsu Funaki.   The match featured stiff kicks, submission holds and was a great visual change up to the pace of the lucha libre laden card.

The IWL Internet # 1 Contender’s Match was also up for grabs in a three-way dance and Mike Segura defeated Pesadilla and Natuto by Michinoku driver and powerbomb through a table, respectively.  This sets up a match between Mike Segura and the IWL Internet Champion, Daga, who won in vicious and quick order in a match against Heavy Boy.

In the main event, Steve Thomas (2-0) defeated Mark Nunn (0-2) via split decision in a razor close fight to advance to the finals of the 170 lb tournament.  Thomas and Nunn showed that they both have the heart to succeed in this sport as both men battles from opening bell until final bell.  Thomas was able to control more of the action, but both men landed tremendous shots on one another that would have stopped lesser opponents.  For Thomas, he awaits the winner of the co-main event which was the other half of the 170 lb tournament.

In the co-main event, Logan Griffin (1-0) defeated Nicholas Wright (0-1) by TKO in Round 1.  Griffin took the action to Wright from the opening bell and landed a series of unanswered punches that caused the referee to stop the fight.  For Griffin, he came out of the semis with little damage and will have an easier time healing from the injuries from this fight than will his opponent, Steve Thomas who was in a barnburner.

In other action, Billy White (1-0) and Jamie Norton (1-0) both won their 135 lb semifinal tournament bouts via submission and KO, respectively.  Expect fireworks both standing and on the ground when these two gladiators meet for the finals and 135 lb championship.  In the 155 lb semifinals Chris Graves (1-0) and Brandon Bullington (2-2) both advanced to the finals by KO and submission, respectively.  Both men won in Round 2 and will take their momentum into the finals where anything can happen.

Former WWE Hardcore Champion, WCW United States and Tag Team Champion, TNA/NWA World Heavyweight Champion and ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Raven also wrestled on this “Best Of” event.  It took Raven no time at all to give Mr. Nasty his patented finisher, the Evenflow DDT, and get the win to an appreciate crowd.

Poster coming soon!

Quest For Glory Fighting Championships 2 – No Second Chances a highly anticipated combo event featuring MMA and Muay Thai comes to you live on July 8 from The Vogue Theater in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and live on GFL.tv.  This 8-bout card features 3 Muay Thai title fights and also a MMA #1 Contender Match in the 165 lb division.  British Columbia is home to some of the best combat sports fans anywhere in the world and Quest For Glory Fighting Championships is looking to carve out its niche in this talent-ridden area.

In the main event, current 160 lb Muay Thai Champion, Joe Halfar (5-1) fights up and coming Josh Write (3-1).  A fight that has been a long time coming will showcase the division’s best strikers as Halfar and Write lock horns to decide who the alpha dog at 160 lb is.  Halfar is a bit more experienced and holds knockout power in his hands and feet, but Write also brings a ferocious striking game into the fight.  You can bet that Halfar and Write will have their hands, feet, elbows and knees flying when they hit center stage.  Look for this match to be a dogfight and for both fighters to go down in the course of the fight.

In the other action, Adam Blanchette (4-2) fights Tony Strong (4-0) for the 185 lb Muay Thai Championship.  Blanchette fights out of the Iron City camp and always pushes the pace and comes forward, never backing down.  Strong, a Sanshou Champion, is undefeated for a reason, and will meet Blanchette in the middle of the ring.  Look for both men to dish out tons of punishment.  Whoever walks away the victor after this match will deserve the title of Champion.

The final title fight of the night will be for the 170 lb Muay Thai Championship as Nick Udivisic (2-0) battles Tobey Clearly (8-2).  Udivisic is from the aforementioned Iron City Muay Thai, and Clearly trains out of the Carlson Gracie Academy.  Udivisic trains solely in Muay Thai while Clearly also trains in MMA so that could be a big factor in this fight where the rules might favor Udivisic.

Ax Combat - Execution Event Preview

Poster coming soon!

From the ownership of one of MMA’s top clothing lines, Assassin, comes a new MMA promotion – Ax Combat!  On July 8, Ax Combat presents Execution; at the Calgary Telus Convention Center in front of what is sure to be a rabid house.

The 11-bout card is scheduled to have six amateur fights with five professional bouts, all inside a 24’ x 24’ ring.  The ring will give fans in attendance and watching live on the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv a great viewing experience, reminiscent of the days when PRIDE FC reigned supreme.

In the main event, Canadian veteran Ryan Machan (13-6) battles Keto Allen (5-2) in a welterweight contest of Alberta, Canadians.  Machan is coming off of a victory in his last fight by triangle choke and looks to use his grappling skills to keep Allen off balance and lock up a winning submission.  Allen has dropped his last two fights in tough order which will only add incentive for him to fight like there is no tomorrow.  With all of his wins ending in either KO or submission, Allen will look to regain career momentum at the expense of Machan.  This main event will have the local crowd on its feet as well as anybody watching online.

In the co-main event, Kim Couture (3-4) fights Sheila Bird (1-0).  Couture, a Strikeforce veteran, is used to the spotlight and it will be something Bird has to deal with.  The hometown Bird is coming off of a spectacular TKO victory and she will need to bring her punching power in to the ring as Couture fought with a broken jaw earlier in her career without quitting.   Expect this fight to be a standup war with both women standing toe to toe in the center of the ring throwing haymakers.

Don’t miss this stacked card featuring both professional and amateur fighters emanating from the Rocky Mountains of Canada!  Watch the champions of tomorrow compete today on this stacked card as Ax Combat delivers its inaugural event, Execution on July 8, streaming live on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv!
