Dead Serious MMA - "Dead Serious Three" Review

 Poster coming soon!

Hard hitting MMA action returned to the Rahway Rec Center in Rahway, New Jersey as Dead Serious MMA presented "Dead Serious Three" on the GFL Combat Sports Network. 3 titles were up for grabs on this 14-bout card and all of the fighters put on a great show.

In the main event, Chris Sladky (4-0) defeated Mark Cugliari (2-2) for the Dead Serious Lightweight Title via unanimous decision. It was Sladky’s first title defense and he did enough to win in a clean sweep as all three judges gave him every round. Most of the fight was on the ground as both are submission specialists.  Sladky was able to get multiple takedowns and control the action, either by being on top and landing punches or transitioning to submission attempts.  It was a strong outing by the Champ against a very tough opponent who would not give an inch.

In the co-main event, undefeated Shane Burgos (4-0-0-1) and RJ Starace (3-4-0-1) went to a no contest in their title bout as Starace was unable to continue after an accidental foul in round one. It was a disappointing ending to what otherwise started out as a barnburner.  The foul occurred when Burgos and Starace where doing some clinch work and working for position and Burgos landed a knee that was low on Starace.   Starace was in immediate pain and unable to re-start the fight.

In the final title fight for the Dead Serious Flyweight Title, Jorge Martinez defeated Ariel Solano by unanimous decision in a fast and furious fight that resembled a whirlwind inside of the cage.  Martinez won all three rounds on the judges’ scorecards, but every round was close.

Be sure to catch all of the action, as the Dead Serious MMA presents "Dead Serious Three" exclusively at now on video on demand.
