CFFC XV Review

Poster coming soon!

Cage Fury Fighting Championships returned to GFL.tv with “CFFC XV” from Atlantic City, New Jersey at the Resorts Hotel and Casino.  The exciting card was loaded with the top fighters on the East Coast.  CFFC has been on a rampage and MMA fans in the Tri-State area won’t want to miss this stacked card.  Both the main event and co-main event delivered in a big way and gave the fans two tremendous finishes.

In the main event, Tim “The South Jersey Strangler” Williams (7-0) defeated Lewis “The Beast” Rumsey (8-8.) by rear naked choke in the first round in a highly anticipated middleweight catchweight showdown.  Williams came out looking for a takedown but Rumsey countered nicely with a standing guillotine that stopped Williams’ progress.  Williams finished the takedown and got out of the choke.  The fight looked over when Williams secured a tight arm triangle, but Rumsey gutted out of it.  Both fighters hopped up to their feet where they began to strike and Rumsey opened up a cut under Williams’ right eye with a nice left hook.  Not liking the exchanges, Williams landed another strong takedown where he worked from side control.  After fighting for position for over a minute, Williams sunk in a tight rear naked choke and Rumsey tapped out giving the fans their monies worth on this night as these two fighters came to battle and Williams walks away with his undefeated streak still intact and looking for new challenges in the middleweight division.

In the co-main event, Anton Berzin (2-1) defeated Daniel Holmes (2-1) by armbar in round one after a wild fight.  Early on Berzin went for a takedown to get out of range of the punching power of Holmes and to his credit, Holmes fought off the attempts well.  After a short knee, Holmes locked in a reverse guillotine that was extremely tight, but Berzin wiggled out of it and went for an armbar then a kneebar on Holmes.  Holmes broke up Berzin’s submission attempts with stiff punches to the head and the fighters found their way back to their feet.  After another takedown by Berzin he again went looking for an armbar and this time after some rolling Berzin got his submission.  Berzin is a NAGA Champion and as such there are very few fighters in MMA that can match his skills on the ground.  He proved that again tonight by locking on a high level submission and getting the tapout.  Definitely a grappling clinic by these two athletes and a great all around fight.

Be sure to catch all of the action on video on demand as “CFFC XV” brings down the house on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv.  See the rising stars on the East Coast compete in front of some of the most avid fans.  Be a part of the excitement and order this iPPV from the GFL Combat Sports Network.

“The South Jersey Strangler” Returns to Action on June 30 at “CFFC XV”

“I want to be Middleweight World Champ.  It starts with this weekend versus Lewis Rumsey. It’s one step closer to my goal. Every fight is the most important fight of my life!”

Cage Fighting Fury Championships (CFFC) returns to GFL.tv with “CFFC XV” on June 30 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, headlined by a middleweight showdown between Tim “The South Jersey Strangler” Williams (6-0) and Lewis “The Beast” Rumsey (8-7) that has MMA fans clamoring because with Williams and Rumsey squaring off in the cage this is a surefire, can’t miss card.

This will be Williams’ second straight fight with CFFC and it’s easy to see why as in his previous bout he came into the match as an underdog against UFC veteran Andre Gusmao but through grit, determination and hard work finished Gusmao in round three via TKO, proving that “The South Jersey Strangler” is a force to be reckoned with in the 185 lb division.  Unfortunately for Williams, after the biggest win of his career, he was sidelined for over a year due to a shoulder injury which needed surgery to repair.  But now, the local hero, Williams, is back and makes is return to the cage this Saturday against a very tough and game opponent in Rumsey.

For the scrappy fighter from New Jersey, this is just another challenge waiting to be overcome.  “I grew up fighting and once I started to train and see the rewards then fighting was the logical next step. I love testing myself against the toughest guys around. Watching MMA on TV I always thought I could do it, but it wasn’t until I started fighting amateur that I realized I had a legitimate opportunity to do something with the sport,” Williams said.

With six stoppages in six fights, Williams is a well-rounded fighter and it started at an early age thanks to a supportive and competitive family.  “I started boxing first, my family grew up boxing. My sister is a pro boxer as well! From there I started training Jiu Jitsu with 302 BJJ and Team Balance.  I took to it very well and that’s where the transition to MMA began,” Williams added.

That evolution continues as Williams has scouted out and found a team of experts on the East Coast that fits into his training needs.  Along with 302 BJJ and Team Balance, there is NJ Martial Arts and a host of great training partners including Tim Carpenter, Kyle Cerminara, Gemiyale Adkins, Joe Stripling and more.   These gyms and training partners give Williams the ultimate test in the gym while he prepares for his upcoming fight all while Williams continues to hold down other important daily responsibilities.

“The daily grind... for me it’s all about getting the proper rest between training. I still work full-time so for me it’s a grind. I wake up and train, then work 8-12 hours, and then drive to Philly or Delaware in the evenings to train again. It’s very physically and mentally taxing.  But it’s all worth it when it’s fight time,” Williams remarked.

For Williams, he has to be 100% accountable during his day job and 100% accountable to his training.  The weeks leading up to fight night are some of the most grueling and demanding for “The South Jersey Strangler”.

“The other side is the mental side of cutting weight, dealing with the last weeks of camp but not being able to refuel with the amount of food that you normally would. The fans see the fight as the hard part... but the fight is the easy part.  It was the six to twelve weeks prior of hard work and discipline that was the tough part,” Williams confirmed.

For fans who will be in attendance live or those watching via GFL.tv on June 30, “CFFC XV” promises to get the Fourth of July festivities started early, especially in the main event.

Williams concluded, “It’s pretty cut and dry, he’s gonna want to stand and trade. He fights at a high pace and throws heavy shots. His strength is on his feet and he likes knocking people out. My plan is to draw a line in the cage and stand and bang. I want to beat him at his own game. I’m used to fighting wrestlers who just want to take me down, so it’s gonna be fun to stand and trade with a game opponent like Lewis. I’m not taking Lewis lightly but I plan on finishing him.  I’m gunning for the KO. I trained too hard to let him come in and try and spoil my fight. Not gonna happen... sorry scooter but it’s gonna be my night!”

In the main event, Mike Crowell (3-2) from Team Voodoo fights Ricky Steele (2-0) from Twisted Genetiks in a featherweight barnburner.  Crowell is a URC vet having fought for the organization three times already and with his familiarity in the URC cage, he is sure to start off fast.  Crowell likes to mix it up and has a well-rounded skillset that always makes him a dangerous fighter, even to the bitter end.  Crowell has excellent cardio conditioning and is prepared to grind away and go the distance against Steele if necessary.  Steele comes into the bout undefeated and making his debut for URC.  A submission specialist Steele comes down to Reno from Idaho and looks to leave with a victory.  Steele is also a strong wrestler who likes to control the fight on the mat.  Both Crowell and Steele will look to excite the crowd with a fast paced fight.

In the co-main event, Gio Mackey (1-1) from Reno Academy of Combat takes on Franky Delgado (0-2) from Mountain Warrior Fight Club in a light heavyweight slugfest.  Mackey is a mack truck of a man, standing 6’4” and throws everything but the kitchen sink at his opponents.  He loves the knockout and his style of fighting has made him a fan favorite early on in his career.  The Californian, Delgado is looking for his first win in the sport as he travels to Nevada and this bout promises not to disappoint as both 205 lb fighters plan to give the judges the night off in their bout.  Look for haymakers and punches in bunches when these two lock up in the cage.

June 30 IZW Preview

Poster coming soon!

The war continues to wage for the heart and soul of IZW as two fighting factions struggle for supremacy at every turn as Brandon Bishop’s Impact Inc. battles the Johnny Z Approved Impact Inc. in the run up to “Evolution” on July 21 where the score will be settled once and for all in the unforgiving Impact Chamber.

After last week’s crazy main event, in which Aaron “The Bronze Bull” retained his IZW Heavyweight Championship against Jermaine Johnson and Double D, what will be the fallout in the Impact Arena?  Neil left the building running like a scalded dog and took off in a waiting car like this was his plan all along.  IZW Owner Johnny Z can’t be happy with the outcome and “The Natural Born Leader” is sure to have a few aces up his sleeve to make Bishop, Neil and the rest of Bishop’s Impact Inc. pay dearly.

What will come of former Tag Team Champions, Nemesis, as last week Damien Morte returned and throttled his onetime partner and best friend, Rage Logan.  Once the best and brightest tag team in territory, something in Morte has snapped and he made his intentions clear by punishing Logan into a near coma.  There has to be more to the story and we will find out this Saturday.

How will Impact Division Champion Jordan “Lights Out” Jacobs be after suffering a beatdown at the hands of Johnny Z, Jermaine Johnson and Double D after his match last week?  The cocky Jacobs has been the cream of the crop in the Impact Division, but will he have any nagging injuries from his 3 on 1 shellacking?
The Civil War never was this violent.  The feuding Impact Incs might very well tear IZW apart when all is said and done.  The candle is burning on both ends and the violence is only going to continue leading up to “Evolution”.

Watch all the feuds and all the rivalries inside and outside of the ring in the crispest, cleanest, visual format available. Tune in to the Southwest's premiere wrestling federation and find out what will happen next. Watch professional wrestling like it's supposed to be, rough and tumble and always in HD at GFL.tv as IZW continues to change the wrestling world!  Order now!

June 23 IZW Review

Poster coming soon!

IZW delivered another night of exciting pro wrestling on GFL.tv as the Southwest promotion’s blue chip, all-star roster was hitting on all cylinders as the fans in the Impact Arena and watching worldwide via the Internet or on television via the ROKU box witnessed a great two hours of action including a great world title Triple Threat Match that ended in controversy and only fanned the flames for “Evolution” on July 21.

In the main event, IZW Heavyweight Champion Aaron “The Bronze Bull” Neil held onto his World Title when his Triple Threat Match against Jermaine Johnson and Double D ended in a no contest.  At times Johnson and Double D worked together to soften up the champ in what resembled a handicap match, but “The Bronze Bull” had help too in the form of outside interference by IZW Commissioner and leader of his version of Impact Inc., Brandon Bishop.  Near the end of the bout, when it looked like Johnson and D were about to both launch themselves from the top rope onto Neil, Bishop interfered one time too many, and got a Double D knee in the face for his trouble, no doubt rattling a tooth or two loose.  Neil then got an inverted atomic drop right in the sweet spot by Johnson while D took out one of the champ’s knees.  After more double teaming by Johnson and Double D, Neil was a broken and defeated man as he lay outside the ring.  Neil got a king’s welcome back into the squared circle as Johnson and D executed a perfect double suplex that showed off their power and strength.  All that was needed was the pinfall.  But instead Johnson grabbed a steel chair and delivered a spine busting shot to Neil’s back.  A payback of sorts for when Neil gave Johnson 13 chair shots on his way to winning the title for a record sixth time back at “March Mayhem” (available at GFL.tv).  Double D followed Johnson’s chair shot up with one of his own sending Neil to his knees once again.   Johnson wanted more and got his own chair and as Double D and Johnson sized up Neil to give him a con-chair-to, Neil ducked out of the ring at the last moment.  Neil got the hell out of Dodge and left the Impact Arena finding a tricky way to skirt the rules and making it impossible to be pinned or lose by submission to either Johnson or Double D.  The plot thickens as more twists and turns come down the pike gearing up for “Evolution” and the Impact Chamber which will change the fortunes of everybody in Impact Zone Wrestling.

In other action, newcomer Angel Blue defeated Venus proving that the IZW Women’s division is as volatile as any division in pro wrestling and stacked from top to bottom.  Blue has made quite an impact in IZW since her arrival and by taking out Brandon Bishop’s Impact Inc.’s one and only Queen, Blue has shown there might be room at the top, along with Erica, for another Lady of Impact.

There were plenty of other great matches on the card, including IZW Impact Division Champion Jordan “Lights Out” Jacob defending his title.  And Damien Morte making his return to IZW and throttling his one-time tag partner Rage Logan.  It looks like Nemesis is broken up for good.  Also see firsthand the brutality of Johnny Z as he takes on Kevin Morgan!

Watch all the feuds and all the rivalries inside and outside of the ring. Tune in to the Southwest's premiere wrestling federation and find out what will happen next. CFFC XV Preview

Poster coming soon!

Cage Fury Fighting Championships returns June 30 to Atlantic City, New Jersey as it presents “CFFC XV” at the Resorts Hotel and Casino.  The exciting card is loaded with the top fighters on the East Coast.  CFFC has been on a rampage since its re-launch and MMA fans in the Tri-State area won’t want to miss this stacked card.

In the main event, undefeated Tim “The South Jersey Strangler” Williams (6-0) fights Lewis “The Beast” Rumsey (8-7) in a highly anticipated middleweight showdown.  Williams is coming off a jaw dropping victory against UFC veteran Andre Gusmao in his last bout as he was able to outlast the strong Brazilian and finish him via TKO in the final round in epic fashion.  So far, Williams has passed every test in the cage with each exam getting tougher as this time around he will be taking on the grizzled vet, Rumsey who is a Bellator veteran and has twice the experience as Williams.  Williams is known for keeping constant pressure on his opponents either with punches and kicks on the feet or relentless takedowns and submission attempts on the mat.  Nobody has every outworked Williams in the cage and it’s a streak he plans on continuing against Rumsey on June 30.  With all 6 of his bout ending in either KO or submission, Williams is one of the centerpieces of CFFC and East Coast MMA in general.  Rumsey comes into the bout looking to win some of the glory for himself, and if he can give Williams his first loss he will do just that.  Rumsey is a rugged fighter from Williamsport, Pennsylvania and on a 2-fight win streak looking to make it 3 in a row.  Rumsey has only gone to a decision once in his career and his high risk-high reward style has made him a fan favorite in his home state of Pennsylvania and he looks to do the same in New Jersey where he will throw everything but the kitchen sink at Williams when the two step into the cage.

In the co-main event Daniel Holmes (2-0) battles Anton Berzin (1-1).  Both of Holmes wins have come via submissions (guillotine choke) and he has proved to have a tough will as the pressure of fighting on such a big stage so early in his career has not fazed Holmes one bit.  But in the challenger Berzin, he finds almost a mirror image of himself on the ground and might want to work his hands more inside the cage for this bout. Berzin comes into the fight splitting his pro bouts while going (5-0) as an amateur. Berzin is a grappling wizard and will look to get the bout to the mat early on without taking too much damage from Holmes in the process.  Berzin is a NAGA Champion and there are very few fighters in the world that can beat him on the ground.  Odd are this bout is going to end up on the ground at some point and it will likely play out like a high-level chess match as both fighters have proven they can finish fights in a split second with a bone-crunching or excruciating submission hold.

Be sure to catch all of the action LIVE on June 30 as “CFFC XV” brings down the house on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv.  See the rising stars on the East Coast compete in front of some of the most avid fans.  Be a part of the excitement and order this iPPV from the GFL Combat Sports Network.

Total Mayhem "Raptors in the Cage" Preview

Utah’s premier cage fighting event returns on June 30 as Total Mayhem presents “Raptors Rage in the Cage” at Lindquist Field in Ogden, Utah streaming live on GFL.tv.  The card is highlighted by a two co-main events that has the fans in the Beehive State swarming with excitement.

In the main event, “Mad” Mike Arrant (7-6) battles Brandon “The Murderer” Melendez (16-18) in a welterweight showdown.  Arrant is a Utah legend and has fought all over the state and made a name for himself with his crowd pleasing style.  Arrant likes to throw punches in bunches and will trade strikes with anyone.  He prefers to stand in the middle of the ring and let his fists do the talking.  Look for Arrant to be swinging for the fences in this bout.  For the UFC vet Melendez, he will fight anyone, anywhere as evidenced by him coming from the Midwest to fight Arrant in what amounts to his own backyard.  Melendez is heavy hitter himself and prefers to keep things standing just like his opponent.  This bout promises to start the Fourth of July holiday out early as this fight will have lots of fireworks in it.

In the other featured co-main event, Gabe Francis (5-3) takes on Josh Buck (6-13) who is replacing Clay Collard.  Francis is a lightweight out of Utah who is a grappling expert with all 5 of his wins coming via tapout.  He will look for the takedown early to try and get the fight to the mat where he is well-versed and deadly.  Buck will have the experience advantage with over twice the amount of fights and his high risk-high reward style has made him a fan favorite with Total Mayhem fans.  Look for Buck to try and end the fight early on punches.  These lightweights will go into the cage with only one thing on their mind – finishing the fight before it goes to the judges.

Watch the champions of tomorrow compete today!  Don’t miss this loaded event on June 30 as Utah’s own Total Mayhem presents “Raptors Rage in the Cage” exclusively on GFL.tv.   Order now.

In the main event, Luis “Baboon” Palomino (19-7) battles JZ Souza (16-5-1) in a lightweight battle that has turned up the heat in South Florida.   Palomino is a Bellator veteran and mixes up his striking and ground game which makes him a tough draw for any 155 lb fighter.  Palomino is a fan favorite of South Florida and has had most of his bout in the Sunshine State.  Souza is a Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 vet and fights out of the famed American Top Team Gym in Coconut Grove, Florida.  Souza is an exciting fighter with vicious strikes that can drop any lightweight in the world.  This bout is strong enough to main event most cards in the world and the fans of South Florida and watching live on GFl.tv are in for a treat as Palomino and Souza do battle inside the cage.  This epic clash is sure to open a lot of eyes from promoters around the world, don’t miss it.

In the co-main event, Jordan Parsons (7-0) fights Lazar Stojadinovic (7-5) in another lightweight barnburner.  The undefeated Parsons hails from North Dakota but has been a regular in CFA fighting in the organization his last 3 fights.  Parsons is a strong wrestler who likes to grind his opponents down and nullify their strengths with his wrestling and control on the mat.  Parsons has great cardio and continues to come at his opponent with waves of aggression until he finally breaks their will.  For Stojadinovic, the Chicago raised fighter has made a name for himself in the Midwest by taking on all challengers.  A submission specialist, Stojadinovic likes to work for the choke which he has finished 5 opponents with in some variation.  If this fight hits the mat, things will get exciting in a hurry.  Don’t blink.

Don’t miss this thrilling mixed martial arts card on June 30 as some of the best fighters in the world bring down the house on the campus of The U! “Never Give Up” will prove why MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world.  There are talented fighters everywhere and CFA is a breeding ground for the champions of tomorrow.  Order now only on GFL.tv

Rise of a Warrior 7 Preview

Poster coming soon!

“Rise of a Warrior 7” is back on GFL.tv and the card features a lightweight title fight and the continuation of a welterweight tournament.  This 12-bout card will showcase some of the rising talent in South Florida along with giving the fans the Semi-Finals matches in the welterweight division to crown the first IFG 170 lb champion later this year.  It all goes down on June 30 at the Havert L. Fenn Center in Fort Pierce, Florida.

In the main event, Raymond Camp (5-0-1) fights Frederico Moncaio (6-0) with the winner advancing to the finals of the welterweight tournament.  Both prospects are undefeated in their amateur career and the winner of this bout will no doubt be riding a wave of momentum into the tourney finals.  The well-versed Camp comes into the fight after fighting to a draw in his last bout.  Before that he was 5-0 with wins coming a variety of ways.  Camp is strong on the ground and also has heavy hands so he will look to make a statement in this bout and leave nothing to the judges.  Moncaio is a submission specialist with all 6 wins coming via tapout.  Moncaio has South Florida talking, and it will be interesting to see what Camp has in store for Moncaio, because so far, nobody Moncaio has faced has been able to stop his grappling attack.

Also on the card, Wesley Barnes (8-1) battles Carlos Lopez (2-0) for the second spot in the 170 lb finals tournament.  Barnes will have the experience advantage when they step into the cage and Barnes is also a grappling expert as 5 of his victories have come via submission.  Lopez finds himself in a great scenario as he has made it to the final four in the tourney and shown that he has the cardio to grind down opponents and wear them out on the mat.  This will be a contrast in styles as Barnes likes to get things down to the ground and work on a submission, while Lopez likes to use his hands and wear his opponents down.

The Rise of a Warrior promotion is a force to be reckoned with as they always present a great night of fights and entertainment and have definitely thrown down the gauntlet for MMA in the Miami-area.  Don’t miss this electrifying event featuring South Florida’s finest amateur MMA athletes competing in front of a packed house on June 30.   Watch “The Rise of a Warrior 7” only at GFL.tv!

"School of Hark Knocks 25 - Medicine Hat" Review

Poster coming soon!

Western Canada’s top MMA promotion returned as Hard Knocks Fighting Championship presented “School of Hard Knocks 25 – Medicine Hat”, at the Cypress Centre Auditorium.  The action packed 9-bout pro/am card featured a women’s main event and many of the top up and coming superstars of the Great White North.  HKFC is the top proving ground for rising prospects in Western Canada and the 25th installment promises to deliver great fights once again.

In main event, Adrienne Seiber (2-2) from Academy of Self Defense defeated Charmaine Tweet (1-3) from Chi-Ki Training in Regina, SK via unanimous decision after three hard fought rounds.  Seiber controlled most of the fight through her wrestling and getting several takedowns throughout the fight but Tweet, who is a very skilled Muay Thai fighter, was able to fire off some great strikes including stiff leg kicks and a damaging knee in the final seconds of the fight.  But it was too little too late in the eyes of the judges as Seiber was awarded the victory after gaining the mount several times and landing strikes on the ground.  It was a clash of styles and made for a great main event.

In the co-main event, Chad Anheliger (2-1) defeated Adam Imhoff (2-3) by TKO in round one.  Earlier in the fight Imhoff got Anheliger to the mat and limited his striking ability but Anheliger was able to turn the table when he reversed position during a scramble and got Imhoff on his back.  With Anheliger in the mount he landed a series of punches on Imhoff who gamely defended in the beginning, but Anheliger’s ground and pound was not to be denied as he kept throwing punch after punch and connecting with Imhoff’s face until the ref finally called a halt to the match.

Don’t miss this electrifying event featuring Western Canada’s finest MMA athletes as Hark Knocks Fighting Championship presents “School of Hard Knocks 25 – Medicine Hat” in front of a packed house at the Cypress Centre Auditorium.   Hard Knocks Fighting Championship is Canada’s fastest growing MMA promotion and always produces great fights and this event was no different.  Order this event now at GFL.tv.

"Cage Wars 16" Review

Poster coming soon!

Xtreme Fight Events returned with “Cage Wars 16”, the 9-bout pro/am card, emanating from the Harrah's Casino in Chester Pennsylvania and featured TKOs, submissions and hard fought decisions.  “Cage Wars” has quickly solidified itself in Pennsylvania as a top-tier MMA event and continues to pump out exciting cards that have the fans on their feet.

In the main event, Nathan Van Tassel (1-2) defeated Juan Vazquez (1-3) by TKO at the end of the first round after a wild and exciting fight.  It was a wild brawl that saw both fighters eating punches in bunches.  Van Tassel was pinned up against the cage on his back while Vazquez stood above him and hammered down punches.  From there Vazquez got side control but he was cut from one of Van Tassel’s up kicks in an earlier exchange that opened a cut.  After a quick scramble, Van Tassel turned the tables and had Vazquez down on the mat where he unloaded a series of punches.  Vazquez covered up and after more than a dozen unanswered punches, the ref called a halt to the fight giving Van Tassel the victory.

In the co-main event, Evan Velez (4-1) beat Arthur Parker (2-7) by armbar in round two of a flyweight scrap.  Velez set things up by landing a beautiful double leg takedown that was preceded by a left jab that kept Parker off balance.  Parker tried to change position, but Velez was able to secure Parker’s back, and from there isolated the left arm.  Once Parker tried to move again, it was all Velez needed to bend the arm back and get the tapout victory.  Velez is one of the rising prospects in the East Coast at the 125 lb weight limit.  Keep an eye on this fighter.

Interview with IZW Commissioner Brandon Bishop

“I'm heading into my 12th year of this silly crap.”

Wrestling fans know very well who Brandon Bishop is.  Some say he’s a loudmouth, an egomaniac, even a jerk.  That all might be true, but behind the scenes, Bishop is a true professional that has given his adult life to a business that is known for chewing people up and spitting them out, yet Bishop still remains a force to be reckoned with.

Getting to know the man behind the attitude and bravado is tough because they’re one in the same, but what you will find in Brandon Bishop is someone who has given as much blood, sweat and tears to the business as just about anyone.  The spark was ignited early on as a child and as an adult some unique business opportunities and an entrepreneurial spirit continued to fan the flames as Bishop details in the first of a two-part interview.

“Wrestling hit me in the cheekbone like a sledgehammer when I was about five years old.  I don't have many vivid memories from those years, but eagerly hiking through the pages of my mom's red leather bound scrapbook, featuring all the wrestling icons she grew up watching at Cobo Hall every month or week, that's a memory that even Alzheimer’s couldn't take away from me,” Bishop remembered.

“My mom would hop the bus in Detroit to the Cobo Hall, and every time Big Time Wrestling set up their ring, my mom was ringside. Bobo Brazil, The Original Sheik, Haystacks Calhoun, Whisper Watson, Tex Mackenzie, Irish Mickey Doyle, Blackjack Mulligan, etc., my mom grew up idolizing these people.  I can't even begin to tell you how badly I wish I could've also witnessed some of those historic events featuring those legends in the amazing atmosphere.  It had to have been incredible,” Bishop continued.

“So as a child I stumbled upon this magnificent scrapbook and was transfixed! I had no idea this stuff was even still on TV, or still existed, all I had was the scrapbook, and those bloodied grimacing faces and larger than life stories and articles and huge people was all I needed to become a fan,” Bishop said.

“After that, around the age of six or seven, I stayed up a little late and popped the button on the 13" black and white TV with the aluminum foil and screwdriver antenna.  Once the tubes fizzed and warmed up and the picture came in, I learned all about The Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy, which played back to back on The CBC (Canadian Broadcast Channel).  I was again hooked on these shows, and began staying up late every night to catch it, although usually I’d fall asleep by the end of Laurel and Hardy.  But one night I was still wide awake, and after Laurel and Hardy came a show called Global Wrestling hosted by Gordon Solie showing wrestling highlights from all the territories. I lit up like an inferno and couldn't believe what I saw in my mom's scrapbook was actually on my little TV. I remember names like Bob Backlund, Billy Graham, Bruno Sammartino, Dick Murdoch, Dusty Rhodes and the list goes on.  Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well as a child, which in turn probably led to my insomnia later in life.  Even back then wrestling was ruining my health and well-being.  In 2010, my mom gave me that scrapbook and I display it proudly to this day,” Bishop declared.

Between his mom’s scrapbook and Global Wrestling, Bishop got to experience a culture of wrestling that is long gone in today’s environment…a thriving territorial system with tons of regional stars who all had the ability to connect with the local fans and those watching on cable TV.  It was these early experiences as a child that planted the seeds for Bishop’s foray into the business of pro wrestling as an adult as he moved from a fan of the sport to a jack of all trades.  Always ready to grab the bull by the horns and take a proactive approach, years later, Bishop turned a scheduling snafu at his job into an opportunity to have his cake and eat it too.

“I ran a nightclub in Lawton, Oklahoma while I was in the Army. In 2001, I was commissioned with filling Monday nights at the Asylum Concert Club, which led to a conflict of interest for me, because, um... that's wrestling night people! I'm not missing RAW for freakin' work! So I came up with the idea to show RAW at The Asylum and get paid to watch it. Genius! Well that idea led to another idea of getting a few security people, bartenders, sound people and myself to goof around during commercials in a make shift ring and just basically do contests and have fun. Later, we came across an actual wrestling ring, it was in shambles, but it had a frame, ropes and warped plywood and carpet padding for a floor.  I didn't care.  It was the coolest damn thing I've ever seen at that point. We fixed it up, put hundreds of dollars into it, and a month or two later, it was usable and not entirely dangerous,” Bishop chuckled.

From there, Bishop was hooked and everything he remembered as a child from the scrapbook to watching wrestling on TV late at night only served as fodder for the fire.  Bishop was turning his childhood dreams into reality and doing it his own way.

“So in 2001, we started training. We met a couple of guys with a little experience on the Indy circuit, Jeffery Parker was who we got the ring from, he was an interesting fellow to say the least, the personification of Lawton, Oklahoma in my view in those days.  He drove an old Limo, had few teeth, golden balding ponytailed dyed hair, porn star stash and a bad lisp.  But I would be lying if I said that he didn't have a major hand in helping ACW [Asylum Championship Wrestling] and myself, and in turn 50% of the current circuit including most of IZW, in getting started. If you follow the timeline backwards, a lot of it leads to that moment I met Jeffery Parker.   Jeff introduced me to Todd French. Later, I came up with the name "Magnificent" Ty Magnus and the fun and friendship between us began. He had a few years of Indy work under his belt and he taught myself and a ragged group of club employees how to do the basics, and nearly killed us in the process. We were doing hundreds of bumps on a ring that was barely safe to bump on, but we did it and kept doing it until we got it.  I learned a lot from guys like Chris Matthews, Se7en, Jef Tiger, John O'Malley, Angel Williams, The Blonde Bomber, Faith and others. Mostly they just kicked my ass around the building. We trained for about a year before I started in ACW and Mid-South in 2002.  I think I did it the right way, not many do these days, but I didn't want to crap the bed too badly when I debuted in the ring,” Bishop joked.

While running ACW, Bishop learned everything about the business from the ground up.   He already had the wrestling skillset, but has been evolving ever since, making ACW the best it can be.  “In my position I'm already creative, performer, marketer, advertising, web designer, graphic designer, video editor, talent relations, scout, show director, TV producer, public relations, drama killer, trainer, and manager of operations... Do I need to be or do anything else?  Nah, but making a solid living off of it, that would be fantastic!”

Through it all, the humble beginnings, the unique start, the wild road trips, and everything in between, Bishop has accomplished more than most and come out fairly unscathed in a business full of landmines at every step.
“I've lost jobs, family and friends due to my love for pro wrestling. Even at this age it creeps into daily life and throws a seizure that shakes up everything in a negative manner.  But it's what I do and who I am.  I've been lucky as far as my health and injuries.  I broke a few things here and there, but I’ve only missed two scheduled matches in 12 years.  I've always tried to be a leader and keep things as fun as possible, but I quickly learned that just because someone is awesome in front of you, it doesn't mean they're not tearing you to shreds behind your back. That used to irk me quite a bit, it doesn't matter how much you pay out, doesn't matter how great the spots are, or the attendance or how nice you are as a person. People talk smack and don't know how to stop. So I realized that no matter what I do, I can't change that, so I stopped caring. Actually it's laughable at this point, so talk away boys, it all gets back to me eventually. I learned that the more they bitch, it’s fun to give them more to bitch about,” Bishop said.

More recently, Bishop has come full circle in his pro wrestling career as he is an integral piece of Lawton, Oklahoma based IZW, and serves as the Commissioner.  With only a few months under his belt in his return to Impact Zone Wrestling, Bishop has still managed to turn IZW upside down on its head.  “My goals in wrestling have been met... I made a name for myself in front of thousands of fans and fellow workers, ACW has left its mark in wrestling history and I'm proud of 99% of everything I’ve accomplished.  My trips to IZW a couple times a month are quite enough for me these days.  I just want to make my own promotion, ACW, as big and good as it can be, and make the other promotions like IZW as good as I can help make it.  I've already succeeded in my eyes,” Bishop reflected.

Tune in to Part 2 in the coming weeks where Bishop covers IZW in depth, his relationship with owner and rival Johnny Z and  IZW's next iPPV "Evolution" on July 21 on GFL.tv

Everything is on the line.

This Saturday at 8pm ET the war wages on as Brandon Bishop’s Impact Inc. battles the Johnny Z Approved Impact Inc. with the most prized possession in IZW at stake.  The World Heavyweight Title.  It will be the reigning and defending champion, Aaron “The Bronze Bull” Neil of Bishop’s Impact Inc. taking on not one but two challengers in former IZW Heavyweight Champion Jermaine Johnson and former Impact Division Champion Double D, both of whom have sworn their allegiance with the Johnny Z Approved Impact Inc.

Not only is this bout for the only true Heavyweight Title in professional wrestling in the South and Southwest area, but now with Bishop’s Impact Inc. holding on to all of the titles (thanks to Big Business winning the Tag Titles last week and Jordan “Lights Out” Jacobs stranglehold on the Impact Division Title), this Triple Threat Match has even more at stake than just the 20 pounds of gold.  If either Johnson or Double D can score a pinfall, they will become the new IZW Heavyweight Champion and strike back against their malicious counterparts.  It might be the type of victory that could be the beginning of the end for Bishop and his cronies.  But if Neil walks away still the champion, by any means necessary, then the light at the end of the tunnel for the IZW faithful will become dimmer and dimmer.

With the Impact Chamber looming at “Evolution” on July 21, who will fire the first shot against the bow when the IZW Heavyweight Championship is at stake as Aaron Neil defends his title against Jermaine Johnson and Double D in what is sure to be a dogfight to the bitter end.

ROC XLI Review

Poster coming soon!

Ring of Combat returned with “Ring of Combat XLI” at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey or streaming on iPPV through the GFL Combat Sports Network.  4 titles were at stake as ROC continues to be the linchpin of East Coast MMA and this card reiterates its dominance as the top dog in the Tri-State area.

The main event, Uriah Hall (7-2) defeated Nodar Kudukhashvili (0-1) via unanimous decision to win the vacant ROC Middleweight Championship.  Hall was able to shut down Kudukhashvili’s grappling on the mat and landed some nice combos throughout the bout that racked up points in his favor giving him the nod and making him the new champion.  Hall was able to control the fight with his standup and efficient striking and clinch work.  Even when the fight went to the mat, Hall was able to fight from Kudukhashvili’s guard and score points.

In the co-main event, Guillermo “Will” Serment (4-3) defeated James Jenkins (5-1) for the ROC Featherweight Title by guillotine choke in round one.  Serment landed some high kicks and then dropped Jenkins with an overhand right.  From there Serment was relentless in his attach throwing hammer fists until finally sinking in the guillotine choke.  Jenkins did everything to escape including rolling over and changing positioning and spitting out his mouthpiece to create more room to breathe, but Serment would not let go and Jenkins tapped out giving Serment the win and more importantly becoming the new 145 lb ROC Champion.
And Jimmie Rivers (9-1) defeated Justin Hickey (6-3) to retain his ROC Bantamweight Championship after a unanimous decision.  Rivers is a blue chip prospect on the East Coast and he might be in line for bigger challenges now that he has almost cleared out the 135 lb division.

Ed Gordon (5-0) beat Carlos Brooks (4-2) via unanimous decision to win the vacant ROC Light Heavyweight Title.  Gordon had more in the gas tank and was able to sustain the pace of the fight better and push the action inside the cage.

You won’t find a more thrilling card then this one. Be sure to catch all of the action as Ring of Combat presents “Ring of Combat XLI” with 4 titles on the line exclusively on pay-per-view at GFL.tv.

IZW TV June 16 Review

Poster coming soon!

IZW delivered another night of exciting pro wrestling on GFL.tv as the Southwest promotion's blue chip, all-star roster was hitting on all cylinders as the fans in the Impact Arena and watching worldwide via the Internet or on television via the ROKU box witnessed a great two hours of action including the crowning of new champions!

In the main event, it was Big Business (Kevin Morgan and Damon Windsor) defeating the Old School Suckas (Gary Tool and Randy Price) to become the new IZW Tag Team Champions and in doing so giving Brandon Bishop's Impact Inc. a clean sweep of all of the titles in IZW! It was a hard hitting affair, with each team doing damage to one another but in the end Big Business prevailed after setting things in motion a week earlier. The Old School Suckas looked to be in charge late in the match with both Tool and Price standing on the ropes while delivering a series of overhand rights to a dazed and confused Morgan and Windsor who were helplessly pinned in the corners absorbing the strikes at full capacity. Then Price appeared to have a convulsion and fell from the ropes as it appeared he was having a seizure (no doubt due to the ambush and chair shot he received last week from Bishop's Impact Inc. while he was alone in the locker room changing, which can be viewed exclusively at After the Impact).

Price lay on the mat motionless and from there, Windsor hit Tool with a Big Boot that sent Tool flying out of the ring and Windsor and Morgan finished off Price with a double chokeslam who was still the legal man in the ring. With the victory by Big Business, Brandon Bishop's Impact Inc. now controls every belt in IZW. This can't be good for The Johnny Z Approved Impact Inc., or anyone else in the IZW locker room as Bishop's Impact Inc. has a stranglehold on IZW and have proven time and time again that you don't have to like them, but you have to respect them. Because right now, they are the best thing going in professional wrestling today!

In other action, IZW Heavyweight Champion continued his reign of dominance by defeating The Midnite Rider handily. But before the match is was announced that next week Neil will have to compete in a Triple Threat Match against Jermaine Johnson and Double D with the Heavyweight Title at stake! This will be Neil's first legitimate challenge since recapturing the World Title back in March at "March Mayhem".

There were plenty of other great matches on the card, so tune in and watch them all.

You don't want to miss this episode of IZW TV. With "Evolution" and the Impact Chamber looming, July 21 can't come fast enough. Bishop's Impact Inc. looks unstoppable and they continue to get stronger as each week passed. Tune in to the Southwest's premiere wrestling federation and find out what will happen every Saturday leading to the most anticipated summer iPPV of the year. Watch professional wrestling like it's supposed to be, rough and tumble and always in HD at GFL.tv as IZW continues to change the wrestling world!

Absolute Action MMA - "Cage Agression" Preview

Poster coming soon!

Kentucky’s #1 MMA promotion returns as Absolute Action MMA 27 presents “Caged Aggression” emanating from Belfry, Kentucky on June 23.   MMA fans, this pro/am card is stacked with the top up and combing prospects inside Northern Kentucky and the greater Cincinnati area.  AAMMA is the premier MMA organization in the Bluegrass State and one of the Southeast region’s top cage-fighting promotion’s.  You always get competitive, quality MMA with Absolute Action MMA.

In the main event, Greg Maynard (3-3) fights Roger Minton, III (4-9) in a heavyweight showdown.   Maynard is a Bellator veteran and looks to snap a short losing streak by taking out Minton, III in devastating fashion.  Maynard packs dynamite in both fists and all he needs to do is land one of his haymakers to swing the fight in his favor.  The West Virginian will be swinging for the fences once the cage closes and he and Minton, III are alone. Minton, III, has gained a huge following for his fights because they are always full of action and never have a dull moment.  One 1 of 13 total fights have ever gone to a decision and it proves that Minton’s high risk-high reward fighting style is more important than the actual outcomes as people flock to Minton’s fights to see him throwdown like very few can do.  This fight is sure to have fireworks that will make any Fourth of July party seem tame.

In the co-main event, Josh Stepp (1-0) battles Bradley Hutcheison (0-0).  With both Stepp and Hutcheison fighting in the co-main event and only having 1 pro fight between them to show for it illustrates how the promoters have the utmost respect for these two gladiators’ games.  In fact, Stepp ran the tables as an amateur going 10-0 before winning his profession debut in under 30 seconds.  Stepp looks to add another name to his list of victims by winning in spectacular fashion, something he has done time and time again throughout his fighting career.  But Hutcheison is no pushover and will be Stepp’s toughest test to date.  Hutcheison was 4-3 on the amateur circuit and he begins his pro career against another blue-chip prospect like himself.  This is a great fight as both fighters are proven commodities in the South and the winner will be off to a great start in his young career as a pro.

You won’t find more BANG for your buck so order this thrilling event.  Be sure to catch all of the action LIVE on June 23 as Absolute Action 27 presents “Caged Aggression” on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv.

NFC 7 - Field of Fury Preview

Poster coming soon!
NFC 7 presents “Field of Fury” on June 23 in Carroll, Ohio. The pro/am card features some of the rising prospects in the Midwest.   If you can’t be there to see it live don’t worry, because the GFL Combat Sports Network is streaming it live on Internet pay-per-view.
In the main event, Luke Zachrich (10-2) battles Cincinnati’s finest in Marcus Finch (5-6) in a middleweight scrap.  Zachrich is a TUF and Bellator veteran and looks to make a statement against Finch who looks to strike gold with a victory over Zachrich.  Zachrich is a submission specialist who loves to attack his opponents arm with either key locks or armbars.  With over half of his wins come via submission due to damage he inflicted on his opponents’ arms, Finch will have to keep his grappling tight and not leave anything out in the open for Zachrich to grab ahold of.  For Finch, a win against Zachrich will improve his record to an even .500 but more importantly it will be a feather in his cap and his finest victory as a pro.  A win for Finch will get the attention of all the promoters around the country and good be the seminal win of his career.    Both 185 lb fighters will be looking at finishing the fight as a win in the main event at a NFC show is what most Midwest fighters aspire to achieve and for either Zachrich or Finch that is exactly what will happen on June 23.
In the co-main event, Jason Riley (9-6) fights William Penn (6-3) in a heavyweight tussle.  Riley is a Strikeforce vet who has been in the cage with some of the best including current Strikeforce Tournament Champion Daniel Cormier and former UFC Champ Tim Sylvia.  Riley will look to take Penn out in devastating fashion and get back in the win column and move up the food chain of the heavyweight division.  Penn is riding a 3-fight win streak and the Bellator vet looks to make it 4 in a row against Riley.  If Penn can finish Riley in convincing fashion, a title show with NFC can’t be far behind.  You won’t want to blink for this fight as when the cage is shut these two heavy hitters will be throwing everything but the kitchen sink at one another and when it is all over only one will likely be standing.

Don’t miss this electrifying event featuring some of the top regional mixed martial arts talents from around the Midwest.  Watch all of the fights LIVE on June 23 as NFC 7 presents “Field of Fury” on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv!

IZW June 16 Preview

Poster coming soon!

With the big announcements last week by Johnny Z, one being the formation of the Johnny Z Approved Impact Inc. (Johnny Z, Jermaine Johnson, Double D, the Old School Suckas) and the second being the return of the most unforgiving, merciless structure in IZW history, the Impact Chamber, things are starting to take shape for “Evolution” on July 21 as the main event will be the Johnny Z Approved Impact Inc. versus the Brandon Bishop Impact Inc. (Bishop, Aaron Neil, Jordan Jacobs, and Big Business) squaring off to see who will ultimately get to use the name Impact Inc. going forward.

There’s no doubt that the ladies of the respective Impact Inc. factions, Erica and Venus, will figure out a way to get physical at “Evolution” too.  Stay tuned for their ongoing saga as after last week, both stables went all in by agreeing to face each other in the Impact Chamber.

What will the next six weeks entail as the march to “Evolution” nears?  What will wrestlers like Bryan Cruize, Rage Logan, Cody Jones and John O’Malley do to make an impact and raise their games like the ten wrestlers main eventing “Evolution” have done?  Stay tuned as business is about to pick up.

Interview with IZW Superstar Cody "The Artist" Jones

“I call myself ‘The Artist’ because I feel like my wrestling moves are like brush strokes and I create masterpieces in the ring, which is my canvas.”

What do The Rock, Randy Orton, Bret Hart, Terry Funk, Eddie Guerrero and Cody Jones all have in common?  They all followed in the footsteps of their fathers to become professional wrestlers.  Each of these men has the unique experience of being raised around a business that has long been inaccessible to those on the outside.  To understand Cody Jones, and the extraordinary wrestler he is you first have to go back in history and learn about his father, Mr. Ebony Tom Jones, who is a living legend in Oklahoma and the wrestling circuits in the Sooner State.

If the history of Oklahoma professional wrestling is ever written, Tom Jones will have his own chapter.  A professional wrestler for 38 years, with many of those years wrestling for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) who at the time was the biggest organization in North America and still exists today, Jones wrestled all around the world and won numerous championships.  The elder Jones’ career saw him wrestle for such legendary promoters as Jim Crocket (Mid-Atlantic), Leroy McGirk (Mid-South), Bill Watts (Mid-South), Verne Gagne (AWA), Eddie Graham (CWF), Fritz Von Erich (WCCW), Mike LeBell (NWA), and The Sheik (Detroit territory).  Jones accumulated a plethora of titles including the NWA Alabama Heavyweight Title, NWA Southwest Heavyweight Title, Tri-State Heavyweight Title, NWA US (LA) Tag Team Title (w/ Billy Red Lyons), the NWA Americas Tag Team Title (w/ Mondo Guerrero) and many, many more.  What may be the most noteworthy highlight in Tom Jones’ extensive wrestling career, at least from a historical aspect, was the fact that Jones was the first black man to ever defeat a white man in the South when Jones beat “Creator” Chuck Carbo at the National Guard Armory in Texarkana.

The younger Jones excelled in all kinds of sports as a kid including baseball, basketball and football, but the appeal of the squared circle, combined with the legacy his father established in the ring, is where Jones chose to make his mark.  “I’ve been around wrestling my whole life so it was a no-brainer for me to pursue it so I could follow in my dad’s footsteps.  Little did I know how much I would fall in love with it making it the greatest choice I ever made,” Jones remembered.

“My dad being a wrestler, I had the privilege to start training at a much younger age than most. I was trained by my dad when I was 13 years old in Oklahoma City. I had my first match May 4, 2002 at the age of 15 at a free show in Oklahoma but first pro match was February 19, 2005 due to the boxing commission in Oklahoma,” Jones replied

But for all of the advantages that come with being the son of a famous wrestling father, Jones has had to deal with the other side of the coin as well.  “The fact that my dad wrestled makes the expectations of being successful even greater,” Jones said.  That’s a heavy load to carry for any teenager starting out in a business where only the strong survive, but Jones has managed to excel and overcome any barriers that have been placed in front of him.

And as any pro wrestler on the Indy circuit knows, there’s no easy road to success.  Although the bloodlines run deep for Jones, it still is an uphill battle to break out of the pack when you’re working in one of the most challenging professions around.  Jones accepts that reality and is chasing his dream of becoming a fulltime professional wrestler head-on.  “The business has changed and now the cookie cutter look of the over 6 feet tall wrestlers are in demand and being only 5’10” I always hear the same old story  about my look,  about not being big enough or tall enough and needing to put on more muscle,” Jones recalled.
Although not the stereotypical height for a pro wrestler, Jones lives a healthy lifestyle and has molded his body into a machine through diet and exercise to take the pounding and wear and tear on his frame.  “I’m on a pretty strict diet of protein and greens; I eat six times a day.  I work out six days a week with heavy lifting and cardio between exercises.  This isn’t ballet. The travel doesn’t help the injuries that you already have because you really never rest but you have to move on.  It’s a lifestyle that’s not for everyone but I love it, it’s my passion,” Jones remarked.

As a student of the game, Jones wants to expand his arsenal of moves and knowledge by globetrotting to various hot spots of the sport around the world.  “I’ve always been intrigued by the different styles of places like Japan, Mexico and Europe so I would love to go to those places and perfect my craft and then showcase those styles here for the fans who can’t get access to those styles.”  Jones is already head and shoulders above most wrestlers on the Independent circuit and for someone who has carried the nickname “The Human Highlight Reel” in his younger days, Jones has set the bar fairly high for even himself.  But that’s nothing new to the man who usually steals the show on every card he’s on.  Very few wrestlers can blend scientific based wrestling with a high flying game, but Jones does it effortlessly.  He can have a great match with any size opponent and that makes him a hot commodity.

Along with being a professional wrestler, and maybe partly due to him having a wrestling father that showed him the ropes, Jones believes there’s more he can add to the wrestling business in a positive way.  “I would like to get involved in talent development. I would like to train young aspiring wrestlers to keep this business going for years and years to come. I hope to pass my knowledge and passion along to the next generation of wrestlers,” Jones said.

Fans of IZW have quickly taken a liking to Jones as his athleticism and skillset in the ring are on par with anyone in the locker room.   Already ten years in the business, the future is bright for Jones who is emerging as a worthy challenger for the Impact Division Title and no doubt will be in the World Heavyweight Title picture down the road.  With so much success in such a short time, there is a lot for Jones to be proud of during his IZW tenure.  A feud with then Impact Division Champion Michael Barry stands out.  “It was my first one in IZW so I felt like I had some to prove not only to the fans but to myself that I could kick it into a higher gear on a bigger stage.  I felt like I thrived on that and showed everybody that watches IZW that I’m a top contender in IZW.”

Another feather in the cap for Jones is he is wrestling for not only the #1 wrestling organization in the Southwest and Oklahoma territory, but it’s the exposure he and everybody else in IZW is getting because of the landmark agreement IZW made with Internet sports broadcasting leader GFL.tv.  The Lawton, Oklahoma based federation has the capacity to reach millions and millions of people worldwide every week which will only grow Jones, his brand and the IZW fanbase.

“It’s a very big deal! The worldwide exposure is beyond great and it gets the talent seen by a larger scale that isn’t obtainable by many.  IZW is hands down the best promotion I have ever worked for. The production value is outstanding and the talent on the roster can be put up against any roster and shine…as for the future of IZW, the sky’s the limit there isn’t anything they can’t do.  When they say changing the wrestling world, they mean it,” Jones replied.

With already a decade in the game and so many years left to perform and excel in the sport, Cody Jones is just starting to scratch the surface of what he will become.  After all is said and done, Jones is sure to leave his own legacy raising the bar of professional wrestling for future generations the same way his father did in his time.

“If you guys get a chance to see me wrestle please do so as I promise you won’t be disappointed. You will feel my passion and love for this great sport! And for the fans who have seen and keep supporting me I say ‘Thank You!’ I will continue to do this for you guys because if it wasn’t for you there would be no me,” Jones concluded

To learn more about Cody “The Artist” Jones, watch IZW every Saturday on GFL.tv at 8pm ET or visit him on Facebook at Facebook-http://www.facebook.com/#!/TheCodyJones87 or on Twitter at @ThePrinceDiego.

IZW June 9 Review on GFL.tv

IZW delivered another night of exciting pro wrestling for free on GFL.tv as the Southwest promotion’s blue chip, all-star roster was hitting on all cylinders as the fans in the Impact Arena and watching worldwide via the Internet witnessed a great two hours of action and drama unfold in the squared circle.

Poster coming soon!

To start the show, Brandon Bishop, flanked by Impact Inc., made his huge announcement that he has been hinting at for weeks.  This was Bishop’s first appearance since he wrestled in a tag match with Aaron Neil losing to Johnny Z and Jermaine Johnson at “Coronation”, IZW’s most recent iPPV.  Bishop exclaimed that he was STILL in charge of IZW and there was nothing Johnny Z or anyone else could do about it because he had the numbers in his favor.  Bishop made a good point as he has assembled a murderers’ row with his version of Impact Inc. and it will be tough for any faction to stand up against this stable let alone a single individual.  But that didn’t matter to Johnny Z as he came out to confront Bishop and Impact Inc.

Johnny Z, not happy with Bishop’s “huge” announcement, had a couple of announcements of his own.  But first, Johnny Z ripped into Bishop and taught him about the storied history of what it means to be associated with the title Impact Inc.   After 8 historic years it means having honor, respect, prestige, pizzazz and mystique, something Johnny Z said Bishop and his group would never have.

After Z was finished, he introduced the “Johnny Z approved” Impact Inc. which along with Z includes, Jermaine Johnson, Double D, Erica, and the IZW Tag Team Champions the Old School Suckas (Gary Tool and Randy Price)!  Z’s second huge announcement was that at “Evolution” on July 21, the Impact Chamber will be back as 10 feet of steel, totaling two tons, will be wrapped around all four side of the ring and he challenged Bishop and his stable to a match inside the Impact Chamber.  Bishop accepted and at “Evolution” it will be the Johnny Z Approved Impact Inc. versus Bishop’s Impact Inc.  The winner will get to continue calling themselves Impact Inc., while the loser will have that name ripped from them forever.  Something neither Bishop nor especially Johnny Z wants to see happen.

In the main event, Double D and Erica defeated IZW World Champion Aaron “The Bronze Bull” Neil and Venus in a Mixed Tag Team Match after Erica executed a perfect tornado DDT (with the help of Double D), smashing Venus’ head into the canvas for the pinfall.  The move was set up by a cross body from the top rope Erica landed on Venus moments before.  After the pinfall, Neil and Bishop assaulted Double D and Erica, with Neil throwing Erica down to the mat and Bishop whipping Double D with his sandals.  That wasn’t enough for Impact Inc. as Big Business (Damon Windsor and Kevin Morgan) along with Jordan Jacobs scurried down to the ring to assault Double D as Erica was forced to watch the carnage and destruction that ensued to Double D.  When almost all was loss, Johnny Z, Jermaine Johnson and the Old School Suckas (Gary Tool and Randy Price) rushed to the ring and ran off Impact Inc.

With over a month left until “Evolution” this feud between Johnny Z’s Impact Inc. and Brandon Bishop’s Impact Inc. is just getting started.  Tune in every Saturday leading up to July 21 to see what twists and turns happen as this feud unfolds.  Tune in to the Southwest's premiere wrestling federation and find out what will happen next. Watch professional wrestling like it's supposed to be, rough and tumble and always in HD at GFL.tv as IZW continues to change the wrestling world!
