Rocktagon MMA XXV – Prepare for Battle Preview on GFL.tv

Poster coming soon!

One of the country’s premier cage fighting events returns as Rocktagon MMA presents Rocktagon MMA XXV – Prepare for Battle, live on April 6, at the Crane Bay Event Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Rocktagon MMA has been on a rampage since its launch in 2010 having promoted shows around the country showcasing the rising pro and amateur fighters from around the Midwest, West Coast and East Coast.

Rocktagon MMA XXV – Prepare for Battle, will offer the same quality entertainment that every Rocktagon MMA event offers which is competitive, well matched MMA fights in front of a packed, enthusiastic crowd.  If you can't be there live in Cleveland, experience the thrill of every punch, kick, takedown and submission via the comfort of your home.  Stream it live on the GFL Combat Sports Network.

In the main event, in the pro ranks, Joseph Lile (3-0) takes on Clint Anderson (4-1) in a lightweight shootout.  The undefeated Lile is a ground fighting wizard as he has made his opponents tapout in every fight.  His long, lanky build is perfect for his style of fighting as he’s able to use that length on the ground to lock in a variety of tight submissions.  Lile is constantly going for a finish when the fight hits the mat so expect a fast-paced chess match from this bout. Anderson comes into the fight almost a mirror of Lile as he too is tall for the lightweight division and is a submission master winning all 4 of his fights via tapout.  Anderson’s grappling is suburb and his scrambles are terrific as he is able to maneuver into dominant position in the blink of an eye.  Anderson is a fast starter as not only have all his wins come via submission but they have all come in round one.  If and when this fight hits the ground, don’t blink.  This main event promises to be a shootout as both fighters are known for their ability to finish fights.

In championship action, James Mogollon (4-0) fights Gary Widget (9-3) for the Lightweight Championship.  Mogollon is a well-rounded fighter with wins coming by submission and KO.  Mogollon has the cardio to go full speed every round and gets more dangerous as the fight goes on.  Widget brings an experience advantage into the cage as well as an explosive grappling game as Widget has submitted 6 of his previous opponents.  Widget is always looking to better his position whether that’s advancing in the guard or gaining the upper hand in scrambles and will look to lock on a choke of some sort if he sees even the slightest opportunity to do so.  This should be a barnburner.

In another title fight, Trey Ross (3-0) battles Robert Duke (4-1) in a shootout for the Light Heavyweight Title.  Ross is an upstart in MMA with tons of potential.  Undefeated in 3 bouts, Ross is a fan favorite for his ability to finish fights quickly having stopped 2 of his opponents in the first round.  Look for Ross to take the center of the cage and not back up one iota.  Like Ross, Duke is fighter from Indiana and already holds a championship with a smaller organization.  Duke has big fight experience and heavy hands to go along with a solid ground game.  He is dangerous anywhere the fight goes.  Once these two brahma bulls step into the cage anything can happen.  Don’t blink!

Watch the champions of tomorrow compete today! Don't miss this loaded event with championship mixed martial arts fight as Rocktagon MMA delivers Rocktagon MMA XXV – Prepare for Battle live around the world on GFL.tv on April 6.

Founded in mid-2010, Rocktagon MMA has successfully completed 24 events on two coasts and is the only national amateur fight series in the country and the only promotion able to offer four types of shows to meet the needs of various markets: all Amateur, all Professional, Pro-Am, and Rock-n-Rage. Rock-n-Rages are premium events combining the cage of mixed martial arts with a stage featuring live musical performances by well-known artists. Beginning in January, Rocktagon MMA will run their amateur national series in conjunction with professional cards starting with Ohio, California, and Michigan.

In the main event, Harry “Joe” Yorgey (25-2-1) takes on Julius Kennedy (7-3-1).  Yorgey is looking for that breakout performance to show the world that he is ready to take the next step towards his quest to become a world champion.  He will be fighting the gritty Kennedy who is known for being very dangerous with KO power as well as a granite chin that lets him absorb tons of punishment.  Both men will be looking to make a statement in this fight that is sure to be a barnburner.

In the co-main event, undefeated Naim Nelson (9-0) boxes Georgi Kevlishvili (12-3-1) in what is shaping up to be a rock’em sock’em back and forth slugfest.  Nelson looks to keep his perfect streak alive by using his technical advantage in the ring and beating the hard-hitting Kevlishvili to the punch.  Kevlishvili is known for wading through punches to deliver his own.  This contrast in styles makes for an exciting bout.

Dead Serious 6 Review on GFL.tv

Poster coming soon!

Hard hitting MMA action returned to GFL as Dead Serious Fighting Championship presented Dead Serious 6 from Brookdale Community College. Dead Serious Fighting Championship tore down the house with the 13-bout card featuring 3 title fights.

In the main event, Jorge Martinez (5-1) defended his Dead Serious Flyweight Title against Jovany Alvarez (4-1) as Martinez picked up the win via armbar in the second round. Martinez showed superiority on the ground as he was able to control Alvarez on the canvas.  In round one, Martinez controlled the fight as he worked inside of the guard of Alvarez and stymied any attempts by Martinez to get back to his feet by landing punches and staying out of submission attempts by Alvarez.  In round two, Alvarez caught a kick by Martinez while landing a punch and this time Alvarez ended up in the guard of Martinez.  From here, Martinez was nonstop in trying to secure an armbar from the bottom which he finally caught Alvarez with who was forced to verbally tap as he didn’t want to take his arms away from defending the submission and risk greater injury.  Martinez showed off outstanding grappling and proved he is at the top of the food chain in the flyweight division in Dead Serious Fighting.
In the co-main event, Cody Mooney (5-0) from New Jersey defeated Philip Ferraro (4-4) hailing from Pennsylvania via unanimous decision to win the Dead Serious Bantamweight Championship. Mooney was consistent in his game plan as he took Ferraro down and landed punches on the mat, while Ferraro looked to sweep and went for armbars and chokes from the bottom.  But Mooney, who trains out of a Renzo Gracie Academy in Holmdel, New Jersey, was prepared and displayed great submission defense and dominant ground control throughout the fight.

In more title action, Chris Remedios (4-0) beat Jack Cordero (4-1) via unanimous decision to win the Dead Serious Lightweight Belt. With the win, Remedios stays unbeaten and also can now call himself a champion.  Remedios stayed true to his aggressive style as he dominated Cordero for most of the fight and grinded away another decisive victory.   Remedios displayed brilliant wrestling as he landed several takedowns in the fight and controlled the position on the ground with side control landing strikes throughout the fight as Cordero was working off of his back for most of the fight.  Cordero tried to strike when the opportunity presented itself, but Remedios showed a great base and was methodical in his grappling.

East Coast MMA was in the house once again!  Order this thrilling card as Dead Serious Fighting Championship presents Dead Serious 6 exclusively at GFL.tv.
